I get around
Likely to gain a different perspective and experience just like anyone else would while working towards their dream job. Makes him a more attractive candidate for a head coach job.

Like a dream job at Northern Kentucky?

He coached one game as a top 10 team and lost 3 years ago. Which was also the last time they made the NCAAs.

Now I know they got hosed this year and his record is impressive but just proving that you can cherry pick any stat.

Im not arguing for or against him.

Just thought I'd point that out since you said he was never in the top 10.

Extremely minor tidbit for the Nick Nurse supporters. Talked with a person very close to Nurse. Apparently he's in Italy currently and to the best of their knowledge there's been no contact with Nurse. Not to say there hasn't been with his agent. Person was "hopeful" he'd get it, but there seemed to be nothing to indicate he's really in the running.

Or he just may not be talking... TIFWIW

Prohm's NCAA Tourney team was ranked as high as 9th, and was ranked 12th going into the tournament. They pounded Colorado State in the first round and lost to Marquette in the round of 32.

Might be veering a bit off topic here, but I followed the 'Clones to Louisville that season and watched the Murray State - Marquette game live, as it was the first game of the 2nd round doubleheader, and we were playing Kentucky right after.

It was a really good ball game. Murray State gave a pretty good Marquette team all it could handle for the first 35 minutes of the game until Marquette pulled away a bit late, but I thought the teams were really evenly matched. Murray State also had some really questionable officiating go against them as well.

Anyway, I suppose the point of this reply is for me to write that before anyone else really knew who Prohm is, that I watched one of his teams play and came away fairly impressed. Count me in on Team Prohm.

One thing that bothers me most about Proehm is that he lost the majority of tight ballgames he was in. Look at all the tight ballgames we play and how many we pulled out.

IMO, the 4 candidates to get interviews are not splashy hires. NONE of them. Drew, Proehm, Underwood, and Otzelberger. Not a splashy hire in the bunch.

To be perfectly honest, of those four, I would pick Otzelberger because of the way he has handled the team and then press, and the whole situation in an exemplary manner. He has basically knocked it out of the park in how he has handled everything. He has said the right things and done the right things. A Baptism by Fire and he has passed with flying colors. With no Altman and with the choices of those four coaches, I would go with Otzelberger. IMO, he is the safest choice......and could have the highest ceiling of all four of those guys. Otzelberger will get good players to come to Ames Iowa. Not sure the others can do that.

has TJ been around ranked teams? Not being sarcastic...his time here with Fred ISU wasn't ranked nor where Mdermotts teams.

And if that's a criteria, Underwood has been around K-State when they won (tied) for the Big 12 title. He has P5 experience, has winning experience, and has 2 years of dominating HC'ing experience. On the surface, Underwood's resume is much, much better than TJs.
