I'm now looking forward to ISU Football...

Only because its a signal the NFL will be starting, and other great college football games will be played.

Ramona Shelburne just said it's not a guarantee that it's Fred's job. Said Gentry is the other frontrunner. There's a lot of smoke but might as well wait to meltdown until it becomes official.

Now we can replace the term being "Chiziked" with the term being "Hoiberged". Strangely it has a similar feel that while many thought Hoiberg was doing his job at ISU he had been flirting with, planning with, and ultimately leaving to go to the Bulls for some time now. Much like the Chizik situation the fans were totally duped (see the Diallo story from today) by Hoiberg.

Fortunately there isn't a truckload of Hoiberg coins that Cyclone fans will have to try and get rid of this time around.

Yea, Post Chizik football was flirting with Top 5 rating. I really miss the post-season experience Chizik brought back to ISU football.

The way they handled their exits has been in a way similar minus the "firmly entrenched" tag line. Hell... Hoiberg was even using negative recruiting tactics against Iowa State while he was recruiting for Iowa State. It's insane. From the sounds of things Hoiberg was getting things with the Bulls lined up behind the scenes before this past ISU season was done.

many of you can defend Hoiberg, but I reserve my right to be torqued. Finding out that he was telling recruits that he might not be here over the summer, Matt leaving, Otz coming back, etc., we were all told it was smoke and that all the media and bball circles were just speculating, well, now, it looks like ISU fans were the ones hosed, again, but this time, but one of our own.

I wish him the best, but I have seen people climb the ladder quickly, and getting to the top this fast, has consequences....if he fails in Chicago, he won't get another shot in the NBA as head coach for a long time.

so this charade of Fred trying to decide if he really wanted to go to the NBA or stay with his "dream job" was bs to begin with.

Exactly what any good coach will do. And that is what Fred is now. Just another good coach going to the NBA. Nothing more, nothing less.
