Word is around Chicago outlets is that Golden State Assistant coach Alvin Gentry is picking up more steam than Hoiberg!

Dannynoonan just had me thinking of an interesting idea. Is it at all possible Fred just gave up on Iowa State after the UAB game? Did he think that he just couldn't win with this program? The stress did get to him and he was forced to the hospital after the season (even asked to before the season). Fred may have just said, I've had it. I need something new and I am done with Iowa State. And that's disappointing if true.

No media member will ever cite their sources. EVER.
I'm surprised by the number of ISU fans who think others shouldn't be ****** about this. Why the hell should I smile, say thank you, and take it up the ***? Maybe it has been his dream to coach in the NBA all along and that's fine but he called Iowa State his dream job and talked about how amazing the opportunity is for his family to live in Ames surrounded by his family and in laws. He also hinted at wanting to stay here for a very long time and winning championships.
Call it coach speak all you want but if that really wasn't how he felt, he shouldn't have said it publicly. When somebody like Fred says something like that, call me gullible but I tend to believe it because my opinion of him is so high. I won't hate him for life by any means but right now I'm pretty un ******* happy that one of our own, somebody most if not all of us thought was different, seems to be like any other coach. I don't doubt that he loves ISU/Ames but there's no denying how much he's hurt the fan base and program which is even harder to take because of how much he's done and could have done in the future. Have fun with the hypercritical Chicago ******** Fred.
It's the way it goes everywhere. If this Bulls thing doesn't go well for him, the backlash will be much worse there than anything he ever gets from people in Iowa. He's replacing a coach that most people still like and thing the Bulls are idiots for getting rid of. If he doesn't come in and win big right away, he won't be welcome here for long.
Well given how things are going I submit the following for our new fight song....
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State
At least for a little while
We will fight with might for Iowa State
And while we’re here we’ll wear a smile
Blah Blah Blah
Loyal sons for 5 years true
No need to see our contract through
And so we’ll pack our desk, and cash that check
And say so long to I S U

That seals it. Everyone blaming Matt A for "losing" Diallo was wrong. I'm officially in the "Fred don't let the door hit you in ***" camp now.
Bush-league right there.
I'll post this again here.
Adam Zagoria @AdamZagoria 33m33 minutes ago Manhattan, NY Source close to Diallo says they were aware Hoiberg could leave for NBA but he never explicitly said it during recruiting.
Looking on the bright side that in 2016 when we have a new AD, new head football coach, and new head basketball coach that ISU won't get another ******* dime of my money and that we won't win again in anything until 2020, which is just in time for another round of conference realignment and ISU going to the Mountain West.
Thanks tho Fred.

Reminds me of Pete, except he never has any new information.Yup. Especially given the timing...it reeks of a sportswriter sitting on information and releasing it at an opportune time, when "Fred Hoiberg" google searches will likely be at their highest mark ever. Even if the "reports" are speculative at best, there's a lot of temptation for Hines to publish his piece and get those clicks!
