UAB has reached out to Cyclone Nation for some help. UAB knows how much Iowa State loves football and UAB loves it too. Unfortunately the Board of Trustees for the University of Alabama that oversees UAB recently made the decision to terminate UAB football. It would be amazing if Cyclone Nation could start a "Free UAB" chant this week in Louisville during the ISU/UAB game. It would definitely help us get some attention from the national media. We all love our football seasons, lets help out another school enjoy theirs! Thanks in advance for your help, Cyclone Nation!

It'd probably be smart just to use this as an excuse to cheer for 'Bama.

I thought we were chanting Fire Watts? We can only chant so many things.

Don't know that much about the situation but if history tells us anything about Alabama politics, someone's dirty up in thur.

I would be happy to support their cause but won't be there so I will yell it at the TV. I am all against arrogant "University of" schools that like to suppress the other institutions in their state.

Also will chant it at my tv but out of any fans that would help you guys out it would be isu fans. Hook em up isu. However if you guys somehow beat us i feel the cheers might be strongly different lol

Good idea - let's do it!

Not really sure how a chant will help. This happened four months ago and the national media cared for about two seconds. I am sorry you guys lost your program, but if a football program can't make money it's pointless to keep it going.

If I was going, I'd do it too. Plenty of existing football programs don't make money--as is the case with the vast majority of college athletics. This has nothing to do with that and everything to do with centralizing power.

Clarification: This has nothing to do with money AT UAB and everything to do with money and power at U of A.

I'm sure a handful of ISU fans chanting something indistinguishable over television will be exactly what the UAB football program needs to be revived. This will fix everything.

I'm more focused on Iowa State than the team we are playing.

I find it odd to cheer for the opponent during a game, even if it is about football.
