OT but I heard that b/c the media doesn't cover Buffalo most of America doesn't know that Doug Marrone is a giant a-hole who can't get along with anyone.
This is all a big conspiracy by Rhoads so once again he can use the "we're a young team" excuse. Just keep bootin' em so that excuse doesn't get old.
Sorry for not joining the sky is falling crowd. I watched Schaffner a couple games his senior year. This kid is really good. Played in a very difficult conference and earned first team honors. Great hands and a terrific athlete. I'm guessing Leslie saw the writing on the wall. I think Schaffner has a chance to be one of the better TE's this program has seen in a long time.

I'm actually kind of upset at myself, for the way I feel about this. This really isn't a bash on any of the players themselves as much as bad for me, as I've reached the apathy point again. No offense to these guys, but none of them were single-handedly going to turn this team around and get us to a bowl game. This team is a wreck and without a miracle, we'll be lucky to win even 2 games next year. at 2-10 last season, honestly, there isn't much we could lose that would really make all that much differece.

I agree with most of this. This news does not change my expectation for this fall at all. I already expected another poor season and for a new coach to be handed the reigns for 2016. If we saw Lazard or Campos transfer, then that would obviously be a different story.
These other guys are like... Wait a second PJ gets to leave!? Imma sneak out while I can!

A lack of retention is an issue. How can you ever build quality depth when you are constantly having to replace guys? We are always young and inexperienced. This is why. The biggest issue of the Rhoads era is not recruiting or coaching, it is retaining players. No doubt in my mind that our defensive struggles this year were a direct result of the attrition we suffered the past two years. You cannot lose that many upperclassmen, replace them with youth, and expect to maintain.
Maybe at a high level program that attracts top-end talent. But not somewhere that has to win by developing players instead of attracting them.
Mutcherson is obviously a big loss but Williams and Lawry had been passed by a bunch of guys younger than them. Who knows on Leslie. Maybe he just didn't gel with the team. Really, out of all those guys, Mutcherson and Harris were probably the only ones who would even play.

Those people are wrong. He could find time over freshmen and sophomores last year.
Just like Harbaugh, who if he didn't take Michigan job they were eyeing Marrone knowing of the contract opt out he had. 8-4 twice in 4 years at Syracuse. 2-0 bowls. & 9 wins for first time at Buffalo in 11 years with Manual/Orton as QB's.

You are allowed to speak from late August through October and during spring football. The rest of the year belongs to basketball. You may continue to bring recruits to basketball games because lord knows you need all the help you can get. Otherwise, we expect silence the remainder of the year. When you stop sucking we can re-evaluate the terms of our agreement.
