Sam Richardson's on a "pitch count" this week

I'm beginning to think that Rhoads has been lying a lot in the last several years.

You know, like every year when he says he has the most talented team ever. And every year the OL is the strongest position on the team. Etc, etc, etc.

His press conferences just seem strange to me quite often. Why would you even mention that he hit on 10 of 10 in practice? What good does that do for Sam Richardson? It just sets up people's expectations again, and then when he comes out Saturday and looks terrible, what are we supposed to think?

And his whole bit about commenting on the 10 players that are still out just looks like whining and crying to me. Lots of coaches are dealing with injuries. Get over it. Man up.

Trust me, clonedude knows a lot about whining and crying. When it comes to whining and crying, clonedude is our CF expert.

Excuse me guy. I'll post what I want to. I know a lot of the local media was ****** 2 weeks ago when he said Richardson was fine all week. I think its funny that he's lying again to them.

The info you provide to the board is pretty good but sometimes you should know when to keep your mouth shut. This is one of those times. Info like whether Richardson really is throwing in practice should wait until after the fact.

Who cares if the media was ******. CPR's job is to coach ISU and give them the best chance to win and if that means putting false information out there for the media to print and the opponents to read them that's what he should do.

I appreciate your post. Providing inside information is part of the reason why I check out these message boards. Maybe if we didn't suck so much, CPR wouldn't have to throw out garbage quotes/lies to try and win a game. Line up, man up, hit the opponent across from you in the mouth and see if you can win. You lose credibility when you lie.

Well if Sam is ready to go he could lead this team to his first Big 12 victory...ever. Career wins against a terrible Tulsa team, a terrible Iowa team and a Toledo team absolutely riddled with injuries does not give me hope on him getting his first win this weekend.

Kansas 2012?

But, I get your point.

If he has to do that kind of stupid **** to win games he should not be our coach, period.

Maybe you're right, but some people enjoy the info. I would want to know too. If you don't want to read what I have to say you don't have to. I choose not to post a lot of stuff, I just figured this was something that wouldn't cause a big problem. Wasn't trying to upset anyone.

And if people think I shouldn't say this because of some strategic thing Rhoads is trying to pull... I'm sorry Texas Tech does not care whether or not Richardson was practicing. They will be preparing like he is.

Why would Tech waste practice time preparing for SR if they knew he wasn't starting?

Obviously Vegas is reading this thread. Spread opened at ISU -3 and is now ISU -1.5.

Or more likely, if they have good information that he likely will start they will spend the bulk of their time preparing for Sam and less time preparing for Grant. If they have good information that he likely won't start they will spend the bulk of their time preparing for Grant and less time preparing for Sam. Either way, it is best if they have bad information.

Wallen, good job playing the double agent!

I like knowing who our QB is going to be. Thanks Wallen.

Maybe Sam starts, hands the ball off to Wimberly, then comes out and grant plays the rest of the way and we win.

First career big 12 victory for sam!

I believe the plan is for Richardson to go, but he has barely done anything since the Oklahoma game. We will see.

IIRC, Sam didn't start that game.

Regardless of whether he started that game it was clearly his victory. Do you give the victory to the guy who went 3 of 5 for 19 yards and rushed once for 4 yards and lost one fumble in less than five minutes or the guy who was 23 of 27 for 250 yards (and no interceptions) and rushed 11 times for 43 yards for essentially the remainder of the game?

Look at the stats and who started starts to look pretty immaterial, doesn't it?

Edit: Mea Culpa - I forgot about Barnett. I suppose you could give it to the guy who came in for mop up duty for the last 10 1/2 minutes and was 1 of 2 passing for 38 yards with 2 rushes for 1 yard.

Personally, I give it to the guy with 250 yards passing and only 4 incompletions and almost 300 total yards in about 3 quarters of work.
