My daughter got herself dressed for school this morning. She came walking to the kitchen wearing hot pink shorts, brown cowboy boots with some zebra print soccer socks showing out of the top, and a white sequined tank top that says "Cowgirl at heart".

I made sure she didn't smell like rum before sending her to school.

I lol'd (lol-ed? loled?) to this at work and now everyone keeps giving me weird looks.

Wow, the kids in a bar thread had been gone, but came back for a while, and then was kinda fizzling there, but she went off with a bang there at the end...

I should have figured the hate would fly when the guy says he wears biker shorts WHILE taking his kid to the bar.

now I'm washing towels to get rid of the fuzz and the couch blanket that is has lovingly collected each hair that falls from my head. And I typed up all my builder meeting notes so I can throw papers away. I'm being so domestic today!

Why must new towels have fuzzies? And are they still new if they are three years old?

I just read everything from yesterday and today. That was pretty awesome.

Too much working, not enough rum and dirt pies in the new property.

You know, after the rum, she should also do a tribal dance on the property to ward off any spirits from that ancient indian burial ground. Posting a vine of it here might help too, we can all send our good energy to clear the curse.

I was surprised to see it going on and decided to re-read it (slow work day). By the time I got around to making a snide comment, Angie closed it. That thread had everything except Spiderman.

The bike shorts argument made me think of when my wife and I went to see the Nutcracker at CY Stephens back in college. Front row. White tights. Worst 3D experience of my life.

They're comfortable, you just need to get over your internal issues.

Bet your wife was okay with it.

I don't yet have kids so I feel more ok saying this. Sometimes I think people who are child-free go out of their way to be offended or mad at situations where kids are present. There is a stridently anti-child person in another group and she makes incredibly hateful comments about kids sometimes - and she sees nothing wrong with that. I don't currently plan to take my kids to adults-only functions if I can help it, but I can't quite side with the "just get a babysitter" anytime you wish to leave the house because I can't handle your child being around mindset. Maybe I'd feel differently if kids have continually ruined nights out for me, but that's never happened. Unless a kid is being super obnoxious, I don't really notice them when I'm out places.

this is not going to happen. And it is not an Indian burial ground. I'm going to choose not to believe that.

Makes sense. I'd chip in money to help with the Kickstarter for the project.
