and some of you make fun of my posts? This is borderline clinically insane. ndsu will not give up alot of points because 7 returning Def starters are a combined 43-2 and averaged about 17-20ppg

We posted the starters and depth chart and ht wts about 5 times in this 3500 post thread. Might as well sticky them geez louise

And the troll gets trolled...the irony.

Beck Heagle Littlejohn Hardie Dudzik Cj smith all started every game last year Schaetz & Thorton started a few games as well.

so yea this is almost the same defense,

here's anew article about an Omaha kid who was #8 prospect in Nebraska last year who will play at Iowa st http://www.inforum.com/content/bison-wr-urzendowski-set-play-true-freshman

The 8th best kid in Nebraska is usually not ranked. This is stupid to try and use this as a bragging point. Typically, small Midwest states like Nebraska have four or five really good corn-fed players along with nothing after that since the state isn't crawling with a huge population like Texas, California, or Florida. You're bragging about a guy that's ranked the #8 prospect in a state that 9 out of 10 years doesn't produce an FBS player with their 8th best player. Man, do some research and fact-finding before you put up these notes that mean nothing and don't impress anyone other than Bison fans.

You guys also signed a QB from Nebraska named Easton Stick. That's a horrible name unless he were a hockey player.

Those corners and safeties are so short. Our receivers should have fun with them. Not a single starter in the secondary at 6'-0" or taller.

No offense, but most CB's are not over 6'0. According to your own depth chart, you have 1 safety that is an even 6'0, and all your CBs are 5'10. So we really pretty close to you guys. Heck most NFL CBs are under 6'0, with the exception of Richard sherman who is huge at 6'3.

--- found on internet with a quick bings search, just to bring in fact.
The average height for a cornerback in the NFL is about 5"11 190lbs and VERY fast.

Schaetz was injured.....broken foot and blood clot......that's not good. They are "hoping" he can play 50 snaps.

Congrats on your dependence on a true Freshman WR that was the #8 prospect in Nebraska. Whoopty doo. We have a true Freshman who was the #7 WR in the Nation and the #47 prospect overall in the nation on our 2-deep. We contemplated Redshirting him because we have a lot of depth at WR but he is too good. So he is playing because of talent, not need.

They also have a RB who was a walkon at Nebraska. What do you think of that?

The starters change sometimes as camp moves along. Just wanted to see the latest scoop.

Same was the case last year and what we heard about Kansas State. Lockett beat us on one long ball on a great move by an all American player. Our D Backs play physical and are very fast. Have never had tall secondary players but they are experienced and great players for NDSU. Don't be surprised to see man to man with CB's and they will do a lot of jamming at line to slow up routes to allow LB's Beck and Littlejohn to make plays.

The jamming is troublesome so I expect SR to take off and run more than our crowd expects. However, at times, our WRs/TE should beat the jam. Mangenious is in the backroom planning strategy as we speak. Bundrage may have a good day if they play him too close.

Yes, because the average receiver in the NFL is around 5'-11" as well. Not a whole lot of players over 6'-0" have the strength, speed, and coordination to be a very good receiver. Nine out of the top 10 NFL receivers in 2012 were AT LEAST 6'-0" and six of them were over 6'-3". The reason for this is that they are athletic freaks that are as fast as the shorter guys, but have the height and strength to give them a huge advantage. If you'd like a link to that information, I can gladly show you. If Megatron was 5'-11" and 190, do you think he would be as good as he is? Heck no! Deon Butler is one of the fastest receivers in the NFL, as is Jacoby Ford. Neither of them are anywhere close to being elite receivers because they are very short, which eliminates advantages like Megaton, Vincent Jackson, and other tall athletic freaks have.

That being said, good luck again covering our tall receivers. When guys are as athletic as Montgomery and Lazard, they have a HUGE advantage over your midget secondary.

I will not disagree with you, having big receivers are going to pose a challenge. It will be an interesting matchup, and time will tell what the NDSU coaching staff has planned and/or drawing up to downplay that match up. Maybe we blitz more, and put pressure on the QB. If he doesnt have time to throw decent passes, it doesnt matter how big the recievers are. No offense to you guys, but your QB last year only had a 55.3% completion percentage. If he is not accurate, and the Bison CBs can do a little jamming once in awhile, your advantage is away. Personally, the TE is the guy I am more worried about, since he has good hands and could expose a sleeping LB.

That all being said.. I am just an armchair coach, that likes to watch the game. My opinions really don't mean squat, but its fun to have good discussions.

I know, right? Great job by NDSU in getting all the Nebraska scraps:
