***OFFICIAL SELECTION SUNDAY THREAD***

Until Greg Gumbel tells me we're a 2/3 seed, I won't believe it. Been ****** over too many times. Something like six straight tournaments where we lost to the eventual winner.

Think the Creighton AD can do us another solid? I love that guy

I sure hope we don't see any crazy bad surprise involving Iowa St. This board & fans are on such a high today. Imagine the meltdown if they slide us to like a 6. I think the team would take it better than us fans, because they would use it as motivation.

That said, in my opinion a 3 seed could be used as motivation as well. I fully expect a 3, not in St. Louis or Milwaukee. Anything better would be a pleasant surprise, and anything worse than a 4 seed probably deserves a meltdown.

Regardless of seed we should have an excellent chance at making the sweet 16. After that its all a plus. However, I really think/want the two seeds to be Mich, Mich St (DO NOT WANT ANYWHERE NEAR US) still not over 2000, ISU, and Kansas. The best two teams from arguably the best two conferences.

Slick Rick on CBS talking about a one seed and his "case" was a win at Cincinnati and at SMU. Wow, color me impressed.

Maybe it's just me, but I hate it when coaches politic themselves or their conference. It's usually the big time coaches that do it because they know they get listened to.

To me it sounds ignorant. Coach K yesterday bragging up a 13 loss NC St team just sounded dumb. Pitino asking for a #1 when he had zero wins over a tournament team in the non con, sounds clueless.

The worst is the bubble team coach interviews. Yes you have to be confident in your team, and believe you are worthy of a bid, but damn, win one or two more games and it's no longer an issue.

Doesn't Lunardi say we would be in with Arizona, Wisconsin, and SDSU. Talk about a defensive top 3 of 4. I don't really want to match up with a Baylor or KSU-type team. Not that we can't beat them, but it takes a lot out of us.

Any surprises anyone expects during the selection show?

Seeding surprises (higher than seems to be expected)
Louisville gets a 2 seed (up from what should be low-3 at best)
Michigan State at 3
UCLA at 4 (partly regional placement is my guess)
UConn at 5
Colorado at 7
Pitt at 8
St. Joseph's at 9

Creighton will be lower than expected

I'm definitely cheering for UK today in hopes they'll move off that 6 line.

This late in the game I don't know if a win would move Kentucky's seed or not but I agree if they end up a 6 seed I don't want to be the 3 seed they would face.

From what I can tell, it seems that the only way to get St. Louis is for ISU to jump KU. Unfortunately, I just don't see that happening. Even if KU gets downgraded to the 3 seed I still think the committee rewards them with the STL location.

The other opportunity is getting Michigan bumped to Buffalo. There aren't a lot of top teams in that region this year so they may put Michigan there to relieve some congestion in the MW. Even with a 3 seed we could get that Milwaukee spot in that situation.

If KU is dropped to 3 it's because ISU replaced them at 2. If that happens, ISU gets St. Louis and KU gets to sit and spin.
