Bubu could help...Monte at the point

No, the team does not need another guard that cannot shoot consistently and cannot defend and cannot create.
Bubu may struggle shooting, but he can do the latter two better than what Naz and Thomas have shown.

Especially with how much people have been ******** about Kane lately you would think they would want Bubu back asap. Bubu is the anti-Kane. He'll sit there, run the offense, slow the tempo when we need a rest, and his priority will be to get everyone else involved. It would be a good change of pace from what we have now. He's spent over twice as much time playing with Niang and Ejim than Kane or Morris.

Bubu Palo is a 3rd string guard at best and playing him would be a huge mistake. Hoiberg needs to give some of his young players more minutes or they are going to walk on him. I know that many won't care because it seems like there will be an endless parade of transfer players each year to come in and pick up the slack, but one of these days that is going to naturally backfire.

Hoiberg needs to develop at least some players this season and see them improve. Iowa State needs some of the Freshman to stick around and steadily improve going forward. Niang is a nice start to that, but guys who have some size and talent that should have at least developed by now like Gibson have been shoved to the end of the bench and seemingly gotten worse.

If this is going to be Hoiberg's job for the long haul, then he needs to realize that the rest of this season has to in part be spent developing guys like Dorsey-Walker and Thomas. They need time on the court to get better, and throwing Palo out there to take up those minutes isn't a wise move.

Although I do agree with what you're saying, I think we need the to have the best players on the court to give a chance to win games. If Bubu can contribute and improve this team in any way then great. If not, keep him on the bench.

Is this some sort of imaginary game that I missed out on?

I sure hope Bubu rejoins the team and starts playing some quality minutes right off the bat. Some of you people need professional help the way you hate on a kid that stuck around regardless of being jerked around by people with hidden agendas. I'm rooting for Bubu. He's a Cyclone.

Agree with OP. Man-Man deserves to start, and the only way we can have him start is to have a backup PG and switch Kane to the 2. I hope this happens! Bubu is no world beater, but he's a serviceable B12 point guard.

At no point in his career has palo ever been as good as Morris has been the last few weeks.

Agreed. I think OP's point is that we need Monte to start. For this to happen, we need to move Kane to the 2. This won't happen unless we have a backup point guard available in my opinion, which is where Bubu comes in.

Bubu Gives us Options

Based on what I was hearing this summer, Bubu was playing well enough to start at PG. Based on what I've seen this year, Kane and Morris are better PG's than Bubu. But that isn't the real issue, the question is whether Bubu is as good or better than Long and Thomas? IMO those are the two guys he would take minutes from. Bubu isn't the 3 point shooter as those two, but he is a better on ball defender and can agressively go to the hole. It seems like CFH has been hesitant to start Morris,. IMO this opens the door for Morris to start and for Bubu to fill in for Morris. It allows Long and Thomas to be shooters off the bench to spell Kane or as part of the rotation where Kane spells Ejim or Hogue.

WHY WOULD WE WANT A KID ON OUR TEAM THAT HAS BROUGHT TROUBLE AND EMBARRASSMENT TO OUR PROGRAM AND ISN'T BIG 12 READY?!?

What is said

WHY WOULD WE WANT A KID ON OUR TEAM THAT HAS PLAYED IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT AND WOULD BE PHENOMENAL OFF THE BENCH!?!?

What Should Be Said

Very good analysis, and I did see BuBu play this summer and he was much improved from a year earlier in the CCL. Actually his 3 point shot was improving at the end of last year, and he looked good shooting 3's in the CCL at a 50% clip, where he was mvp over all of our current players except Kane. I'm certainly not saying he's better than those players, but he certainly was an improved player, especially in his 3 point shooting. Even if he only gets back to the level he was playing at the end of last season, where he was a key sub on a good NCAA team, he will help.

Go read Randy Peterson interview(twitter) where Bubu mentioned he has been practicing during his dismissal with Jack Sullivan in Ankeny(Kindgom Hoops).
To lazy to read but if thats true then maybe he actually has gotten good at shooting threes. I think he has but maybe thats the proof to get people to actually believe it.

I'm excited to have Bubu back. He didn't do anything wrong, and what happened to him was horrible. I hope he comes in, plays well, and really helps Iowa State. Happy for you Bubu.
