channel Q105.1

I had XM for a year and listened to the college sports station almost exclusively. Content is great (except Finebaum is gone now), however, the price is too steep (plus sports talk radio still has a ton of commercials).

Moved to Boulder in May - working for a Classic Rock/AAA station here.
My move had nothing to do with anything going on at KCCQ...it was more for my wife who just graduated with her MBA from ISU and wanted to branch out and live somewhere different for a change. When CO came up as a destination, I jumped at the chance.

I found out about the flip-flop last night at 1am when we started our trek back from Christmastime in Ames. I have no more juice at the station than any of you now. ;)

I was devastated when "The Dot" left Des Moines. I spent that first weekend thinking it was a joke waiting for them to play some good music and instead I heard "I Want it That Way" 23 times in 2 days.

Get satellite radio. You'll wonder why you tolerated those stupid commercials for so long.

I may be weird but I like the commercials and the personality of DJ's. If I just wanted to listen to straight music I would plug in my Ipod and not pay the monthly fees of satellite radio.

This sucks because I could get 105.1 from just south of Clear Lake to Des Moines without hearing the same song 5 times.

There are some radio commercials that drive me crazy. Any version of the Jared's jewelry ads, Iowa Diamond ads, and Joe Clemson auto and his stupid repeating of approved by joe.com ending. Every time I hear it I want to give a punch in the face approved by Rulzzz.com

That's impressive I loved channel Q and I struggled to get it in 20 miles away from Ames in Bondurant

So is 105.1 the ISU affiliate still, or has that moved to 106.3 too? I guess I can still listen on 100.3, but like other posters have stated, 105.1 has a pretty decent range compared to 106.3

I kind of want to know that too. Do I have to change the channel from 106.3 to listen to the Cyclones?

I could look it up, but I'm feeling kind of lazy right now.

I doubt it since it is already on 100.3 in Des Moines.

Are they maybe going after KGGO and trying to put the last nail in that coffin since Cumilus has ruined KGGO.

DSM radio keeps getting worse and worse and worse. 107.5 literally plays music on a 3-hour loop, 105.1 and 106.3 have supposedly flipped, I can't ever listen to 103.3 without hearing "Tom Sawyer" or "Comfortably Numb" or, as my wife puts it, the "cash register song" and the "clocks song" (you probably know what I'm talking about), and then there's KGGO (which we call K-G-G-GONE) which is nothing without Lou, Round Guy and Heather.

On another note, 106.3 seems to change formats every few years...must be a cursed frequency or something.
