No need for the tone. I understand the situation, but I think Brands' public quote is noteworthy - even for him. I hope none of our wrestlers take the mat knowing, with certainty, that his *** is going to be kicked. Then why wrestle?

Naw, Iowa Wrestling fans are a special breed of horrible. A class above any other fanbase in any other sport I've ever encountered. In fact going to a couple Iowa Wrestling meets after moving to Iowa City was what turned me from a "I'll cheer for Iowa when they aren't playing ISU" person into a diehard Hawkeye hater.
You know how Texas can get away with anything, and the officials let them? Picture that but 10 times worse. And a fanbase totally smug about it and not seeing the issue.
Then picture the douchiest Ed Hardy wearing Tapout "I used to train" person you know and multiply that times a hundred. That's the mindset of your typical Iowa fan. And they get more confident in groups.
Iowa Wrestling fans also only know two words. "STALLING" and "TWO". That's the sum of their entire vocabulary.
Basically what I'm saying is if you looked up "The worst group of people in the entire world" in the dictionary you'd find a picture of an Iowa Wrestling fan.

There's a reason highly ranked Iowa guys tend to totally flame out if they lose an early match at NCAAs. Through their coaches they literally do not know how to deal with losing. It happens once and they are just totally broken. Happened to McDonough last year.
Hate to admit I like to see a kid lose, but...I LMFAO when McDonough couldn't even make it to the podium at the NCAA's.
I like Brands' quote and am glad that he said it. This is a rivalry. The fact that ISU wrestling hates IA and vice versa is great. Makes it more fun for the teams and the fans. So long as we're not being complete donkeys to each other, let it fly!
