Explosions at Boston Marathon

Reporting nobody is in custody...they are questioning people but no custody. Just on fox, no link.

Just found out a friend and his family who were running the marathon are okay. Relieved, but still sick over the events. T&P to everyone in Boston

Very frustrated about this and sick to my stomach and angry. I feel terrible for all of those people, what will it take for this **** to stop?

This kind of stuff with never stop. Personally the two things in the world that need to be taken most seriously to help prevent tragic things like this are mental disorders and understanding other religions. I feel like emphasizing on these two things will drastically cut down on events like this, but others will still continue to do things like this for other reasons.

I'm normally a big CNN guy but I'm about ready to turn it somewhere else. Their correspondent just said, paraphrasing "The president took some heat for not calling an incident oversees "terrorism" so I'd imagine he will do that today because he needs to politically".

Who thinks about that at times like these? Or if you do, don't say it on national TV.

If we're talking radical Islamists, understanding won't make them stop. About the only thing you can do is recognize that the overall risk that they pose to you is tiny in comparison to the dangers you face from other everyday things, and continue to live your life anyway.

In a free, open society (or totalitarian society for that matter), there is no way to make every single gathering place of people 100% safe, and further, you would not want to live in a place that tried.

Understanding and educating people may lead to a reduction in the number of people becoming radical.

saddens me that I'm no longer shocked by these guys

I'm not a supporter of terrorism but if someone could take out those *** holes they'd deserve a medal of honor.

Yeah, that'll work.
Bin Laden was raised as a devout Wahhabi Muslim.[SUP][24][/SUP] From 1968 to 1976, he attended the élite secular Al-Thager Model School.[SUP][20][/SUP][SUP][25][/SUP] He studied economics and business administration[SUP][26][/SUP] at King Abdulaziz University. Some reports suggest he earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979,[SUP][27][/SUP] or a degree in public administration in 1981.[SUP][28][/SUP] One source described him as "hard working";[SUP][29][/SUP] another said he left university during his third year without completing a college degree.[SUP][30][/SUP] At university, bin Laden's main interest was religion, where he was involved in both "interpreting the Quran and jihad" and charitable work.[SUP][31][/SUP] Other interests included writing poetry;[SUP][32][/SUP] reading, with the works of Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery and Charles de Gaulle said to be among his favorites; black stallions; and association football, in which he enjoyed playing at centre forward and followed the English club Arsenal F.C.[SUP][33][/SUP]

The kind of people that protect us from these acts deserve more than that. That is why it is such a shame that the man who took out Osama Bin Laden is in such a crappy situation now.

You must start the education from a very young age. The palestinians are taught in grade school to hate the enemy, and you wonder why they end up throwing rocks and missles into the general population.

What I mean by educating people on other religions is they know what we believe in when we die. Many religions believe that when they die they will have an amazing afterlife, better than what they are getting while alive. They may believe they are hurting people they are also allowing people to reach a better life, which is their afterlife. I understand they are causing chaos but it is just another way to view things.

It looks like Alex Jones has already gotten himself into some hot water with some remarks about this; that didn't take long.

Not that I necessarily care about anything that a raging, paranoid ******* like Alex Jones has to say, but now you have me curious; what were his remarks?

Its going to get better, but its not going to change overnight. With the internet, the world is becoming a smaller place and maybe some of those who were taught in grade school to hate the enemy will realize they aren't the enemy.

Its not just educating muslims, its educating everyone. There are some who are taught to hate and fear all muslims.

I looked at the comments on ESPN. It was like half jokes about liberals banning marathons and people ******** about not being able to watch PTI. I know its the internet and ESPN, but seriously have some humanity.

Speaking of ESPN...I know some of the criticism for their various inanities is well deserved, but I've been watching them more this afternoon and night than either CNN or ESPN, and they are really doing some quality work. Bob Ley is a phenomenal journalist, regardless of the context of talking about sports on ESPN.

On twitter he said "Our hearts go out to those that are hurt or killed #Boston marathon - but this thing stinks to high heaven #falseflag"
