Just make sure you remember which cup is which. You don't want to take a swig of your spit cup thinking it's a delicious Pepsi.
You see, you just need to build in exceptions along the way. As in "I'm giving up alcohol for Lent, with the exception of the Big 12 tourney. And if the Clones advance throughout the NCAA tournament."
We go to Vegas every year and of course it's not part of the Lent deal. so for us no alcohol except for the Vegas trip. That first night there we always seemed to get, uh, pretty... intoxicated!

Finally figured out what I'm giving up. Last year my daughter told me I should give up coffee - so I did. I just decided this morning that I will do that again but up the ante a little and give up M&M's as well. We have a dish of M&M's in the kitchen that I tend to gravitate toward whenever I get a bit peckish between meals.
sometimes the devil just takes you to a desert for 40 days and you gotta be strong man. That desert is a notebook free lent.
