NOTES from today's scrimmage

Just a few notes from today's scrimmage. I'll have a full write-up posted after a while.

--- No starting QB was named. Sounds like that will happen on Tuesday.

--- I asked Paul Rhoads if any true freshmen would play this season. He told me that Cole Netten is the only rookie with a shot to do so.

--- Speaking of Netten, Rhoads still has not decided on a starting kicker.

--- As for the open G position, no decision has been made if Gannon or Lichtenberg will start. Rhoads said that both will play quite often.

I like this. Messingham sounds like a real player's coach, and I'm sure he wants to be down there to coach his players face to face. Does this mean Sturdy will be in the press box?

Hard to believe it will not be jantz. CPR is always saying that they are very close, but it also seems like he is commenting on how SJ is doing this or that better than last year, while there is not a lot said about the play of Barnett. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but coaches tend to talk about the play of their starters.
