NBA: Playoff Time

i havent watched teh pacers play a single game this year until playoffs, they are fun to watch. Im glad phyco T is doing well.

Watching the spurs last night and namely Tony Parker, he good.

You're in denial. Either you're a contrarian who doesn't realize it, or a LeBron fan. Yeah i took a couple minutes to post some videos, it wasn't me flopping around like a baby in those videos. You can't even acknowledge the guy is an epic flopper when presented with dozens of hilarious examples.

LeBron James won MVP. I'm sorry that upsets you so much.

Exactly the NBA has anointed Lebron the MVP for the for foreseeable future, we need to just get use to it.

The NBA needed another Jordan, they got Kobe, Kobe got accused of sexual assault and it went public (unlike Jordans many scandals). They needed another Jordan, they have LeBron.

The MVP doesn't upset me, I just think Durant could have won it just as easily. LBJ is the most talented player to ever play the game and it would be weird if he never got an MVP even if he goes zero for titles.

More points, more rebounds, more blocks, better finisher as clearly on display in the playoffs, neither player won their own conference regular season...it's reasonable to think Durant could have been MVP too.

I don't like floppers, I don't like people who celebrate winning before they won, and I don't like players who put their cult of personality before the game. If a player you like does all those things you can like him but I won't. What's the big deal?

The league commissioner, other coaches, other players, announcers calling the games have all called him out as a flopper but somehow you can't. That makes you a LeBron fan or an unknowing contrarian.

Dwayne Wade certainly did not have it last night. Chalmers did.

I'd like to be an NBA broadcaster just for one day so I could yell "SUPER NINTENDO CHALMERS!" when he hits a 3 or something.

?? Just because I don't say it doesn't mean I don't think it. Do I need to tell you I am a cyclone fan as well? I don't think I've ever said that directly on this board.

So much Lebron chatter here I can't even decide who to quote, but here's my take: At this point, I'm starting to feel a little bad for him. I don't think he's a bad guy, but I do think he's immature and easily influenced by people who have no business advising him. He's great through three quarters, but if a team is counting on him in the final moments, said team is ****ed.
Fans and observers see all this talent and ability, and we want him to be something that he just isn't - an all time great along the lines of Larry Legend, Magic, and MJ. He lacks that killer instinct. What compounds this problem is that he can't win either way. If he tries to take over a game late and fails, then he's a choke artist. If he takes a backseat to Wade late in a game or defers on the final shot to someone else, he's a waste of talent. And it doesn't help matters that he's always trying to take advantage of all the perks that come with being The Man, but he doesn't always embrace the responsibility.

And cyjack, there are already a ton of analysts that are saying the Spurs are the favorite and predicting them to win it all. They are a small market team so they don't get the exposure other team like the Heat, Bulls, Knicks, etc. get.

Spurs/OKC is going to be one hell of a series. If heat don't get by pacers, they should trade bosh for a few role players. Not sure who would take bosh and his max contract though. They still have the odds way too high for miami. People still giving them too much credit. Vegas is going to make a killing.

I don't see how anyone can argue with any of this...but you'll be labeled a "hater" if you prefer his opponent wins or you point out his frequent flopping like David Stern and Kobe Bryant did in recent interviews.

Your last sentence in particular sums it up better than I did.

It will never happen but the Heat would be much better off trading Wade rather than Bosh. Bosh actually fits in nicely with LeBron and the Heat desperately need front court help. There's a lot more affordable quality two guards out there than big guys.

The trade that makes the most sense for everybody invloved is Wade & Bosh for Dwight Howard/whoever to make money come out right.

Where did Stern ever call out LeBron for flopping?

Where did Stern ever call out LeBron for flopping?

"I think it's time to look at (flopping) in a more serious way," Stern said, "because it's only designed to fool the referee. It's not a legitimate play in my judgment. I recognize if there's contact (you) move a little bit, but some of this is acting. We should give out Oscars rather than MVP trophies."

Only LeBron is known for flopping at all among recent MVPs, who else would Stern be referring to the day the MVP result leaked?

He knows it looks bad for the league to have a flopper as its most visible player, a first as far as I can remember since I started watching in the early 80s. At the same time he knows it's a slippery slope to let coaches say things like Vogel did even when rational people know it's obvious.

That's a huge reach, but hey whatever fits your narrative.

You and your LeBron fan buddies can't even admit he is a flopper even with dozens of loony tunes level flop videos. He looks like somebody just shot him through the heart with a machine gun several times a game.

MVP results leaked, same day the league commissioner says flopping is a problem and jokes they should give out Oscars instead of MVP trophies. Among recent MVPs...only one noted flopper. It's not a stretch if you've seen the guy play with clear vision.

How time consuming is it to have this much bitterness built up against a person you've never met? It seems like it would be exhausting.
