hILTON mAGIC IS SO CLOSE TO BEING BACK i CAN TASTE IT!!!!

Why does this keep getting brought up??? I thought the student section was great tonight. (I'm biased)... We got loud when the time came and then we would turn it over or make a dumb shot and be quiet. We got into Kimberly's head when he threw a towel at us. I kept an eye on the crowd and while sometimes Cyclone Alley was sitting down, so was the rest of the place. Why is this an issue? How about we focus on the real thing at hand. How about we question why we have Chris Allen run up and shoot a crazy three out of nowhere instead of setting up an offense instead of saying which student section was better. Who cares, it is what it is. Until this team makes it to the tourney expect these crowds.
 
Steps to bring back "Hilton Magic."
1. Destroy Cyclone Alley
2. Combine student section and move it to one of the sides.
3. Hide the old people who don't cheer in the balcony.
4. Shuttle students down to the game and run promotion to get more students and have a tailgate or something before if possible.
5. WIN.
6. Destroy Cyclone Alley

Are there points in the game where the students should be louder?.. Yes of course, but with all do respect looking around in the 1st half I saw alot of people in the parquet sitting quiet. Yes they get loud on occasion, but this argument could come from both ends. How about everyone gets louder and stops pointing fingers

You do realize it is possible to yell the entire game right? NO BREAKS.
 
I think all of you old timers on here need to show us what hilton magic really is. you should show us what decibel we need to be at.
 
I think tonight was easily the best crowd since I've been in college. I'm sure it wasn't as loud as the 90's, but like the team, the fans are working their way back to where we used to be. Hilton Magic wasn't created in Johnny's first year. We've been through hell the last six years as a basketball fanbase, so it's going to take awhile to recreate the attitude fans used to have when they stepped into Hilton.
 
I've been going to basketball games for three years (which is how long I've known about ISU) and haven't seen 1 big win. NOT ONE! NO UPSETS! NADA! Until this happens expect a crowd like this. We know the Hilton of old saw some amazing wins and games so you had a reason to cheer. This shouldn't be a big deal and we shouldn't have 7 threads about it. It's dumb. Move on!

I will admit I was only able to watch on tv, but it did not seem that loud to me, and it was not sustained.

When it was Hilton Magic....it was loud and noisy whenever the other team had the ball.....and it was sustained. Then it would be a little quieter when ISU had the ball, until they scored. If ISU got a breakaway fast-break, the crowd would stand....even the old fogies on the side...until the break was done.

Sorry, but the noise level of Hilton Magic was not a third of the crowd yelling Ohhhhhhhhhhh in unison for a couple of minutes. It has to be more intense then that.

Maybe with all the advertising, the timing of the ads and announcements, the scoreboard, and the other boards and distractions in the arena now......it has just changed. The level it used to be may never come back. Maybe it was just Johnny too.

Yup. None of the current students have ever seen a good win. Baylor last year is probably the closest thing to it. Nobody else would have the student and just general fan support that we have if they had gone through what we have for so long.

valid point, I think when Orr's team beat that ranked Missouri team, ISU was not that good like 13-15 that year.. But that 1 win definitely changed people's perspective on things.
 
I Got a Pretty good Gut feeling that the upsets that did happen During "hilton magics" Glory Years, Iowa state didnt shoot 52% From the Free throw line.
