Netten

not to be debbie downer but he was 50% fg coming into this season. Should fit right in.
You do realize right now that 50% at Iowa State would be an upgrade and an improvement, right?

a bit of good news, last time I checked Ankeny's stadium isn't bowled in so he's use to kicking in a wind tunnel.

The one tonight was aided by a strong wind at his back. Flag was straight out all night.

I trust the coaches and their evaluations but I'm struggling to understand why they can't go find a stud kicker. I don't care if he misses all of his FG's in Ankeny (go Valley) as long as he makes them in Ames.

When I was on the sideline the wind blowing straight into my face. So there was a strong wind blowing right at the Ankeny sideline. It was an awesome kick.

Don't worry guys his misses haven't been wide rights and lefts to often. A lot of them are ones that fell short due to our FG team letting a bit of leakage through so he had to kick some long ones high. If he gets good protection he'll make a lot of FGs.

I just wonder what the coaching staff is thinking when they sign a kid like this. First they get a commit from some punter at Valley who had never punted in a varsity game and now they get some kicker from Ankeny who isn't kicking 90% in HS. Hopefully Netten turns out to be better than than crappy punter we have now from Valley

Clones85: how the hello can you call Kirby a bad punter?? All he did as a freshman was have the 2nd best year ever for a hunter we ISU

anybody just see his 46 yard FG on WOI, looked like it could of went for 60.

Should be, "could've gone."

Does this bother anyone else? I guess I'm representing the grammar police, but it seems like this type of phrase is becoming more and more used to the point that people probably don't think it's wrong...

Anyway, I agree with the poster that asked why can't we get a stud kicker and change our luck in close games. I hope Netten is an improvement.

Is it possible to go any lower?
