I just hope we're scouting the entire country for kickers, and not just the state of Iowa. If the best kicker we can find just happens to be from Iowa, great, but he better be better than anyone else we could find in the country.

These Iowa kickers haven't panned out too well for us thus far. Maybe Netten can change all that? I hope so!

I am not sure what happen to Zach Guyer, in high school at Johnston he was a great at kicking field goals and kicking off into the endzone. Back in the 70's and 80's, we always had decent kickers.

Kicking seems to be a lot more of a head game than a talent thing. Hard to predict much of anything.

One thing to consider: HS kickers use a tee; At the college level, tees are illegal for place kicks.

Tony Yelk was from Wisconsin. And the reason we offered him is because an Iowa kid reneged on his commitment to McCarney to go elsewhere.

Of course, I think that particular Iowa kid is still kicking in the pros right now....

Does this bother anyone else? I guess I'm representing the grammar police, but it seems like this type of phrase is becoming more and more used to the point that people probably don't think it's wrong...
