Gold-Out Saturday?

If the home team wears red (cardinal)... and the visiting team wears red... then won't most people just assume that people wearing red in the home team's stadium are rooting for the home team?

pretty sure Utah will be wearing white this weekend. Clones will wear the same uniforms they did last week against Ttech. so for those of you who are having some "OMG what color do I wear?" dilemma, red would be appropriate.

what will look best on TV is when a million crazy people all storm the field after a statement upset. that will look even better than some unoriginal color out scheme!

this thread makes me sad.

SCREW gold out why would you change from cardinal for a visiting team

You would have a point if Iowa State fans all wore cardinal to games already. But they wear cardinal, gold, white, black, gray, chartreuse and every other possible color. A lot of people already wear gold so they wouldn't be changing at all. You wear cardinal so you think everybody does. Look around on Saturday. It's the United Nations of apparel colors.

i don't own a yellow shirt. Does that make me a bad fan? Because technically that would make me one of the "you can't tell me what to wear" fans. At least according to some it seems.

yes, it does... stop being a wussy arse whiner...

i dont think that to many hawk fans complained last week about wearing black and gold... shoot they didnt even get a choice of which one they wanted to wear... im sure there were a few of you in that crowd though... so dont worry, you can still come.

Penn State fans white it out, and seems pretty awesome... people on here cry about the stupidest **** i have ever read in my life.

Half the teams in the country include red. Who cares. Its OUR stadium, and cardinal is OUR color. Does nebraska not wear red when we come to town?

How many fans wear cardinal every game? Less than half. They wear everything, including a lot of non-school colors. Tons of white and gray in the crowd every game.

it was cold saturday, but yet iowaa coordinated the sections to be black/gold/black/gold, which looked freaking sweet

The gray and white wearing folks are the ones that make me wonder. Wear gold or red and be in your seat yelling as loud as you can.

if the athletic office says to wear gold, wear gold... if they say cardinal, wear cardinal... if they say just show up, then just show up... if someone wants to cordinate something for the fans, let them, they are being an active part of the atmosphere... it takes work to pull off great things, and it starts with fans. so stop crying about stupid things. im guessing some of you just like to complain, and hate everything. or just like to take the opposite side of what ever is being discussed.

If most people dont have gold, or dont like it, then a cardinal out would be awesome.. key is it doesnt matter what it is, as long as most everyone does it. at this stage any cordinated things we fans can do, will be cool.

Really? How about the our athletic department getting off their duff and passing out pom-poms to us, like Iowa did? How about passing out t-shirts to us, like Penn State and so many others do? Funny how other schools "pull off great things" by the school itself taking the lead!
ISU fans, on the other hand, just get lectured to.
SO TIRED of this preaching to our great fans about what they should wear/not wear.

Our fans our terrible when it comes to designated Cardinal or Gold days. Can't remember a BB game or FB that has come even close to matching up all the same colors except when they give away shirts to students so at least they all match.

What if they just handed out gold towels at the gate or something? A gold out would never work, but something like this would work.

I'll probably wear gold anyways. I'd rather we focus on being loud than looking a certain way.

Stuff like that requires someone to foot the bill on the expense to do it so its easier said than done. Even if you can find a way to make some cheap $5 t-shirts take that times about 50,000 fans plus any costs associated with distributing it at the gates and you are looking at least a $250,000+ promotion. You'd need several sponsors to pull that off if you want to stay away from using athletic dept. funds.

Had to try out new .gif so this thread gets it. Oh yeah Haters gonna hate.
