Gold-Out Saturday?

yes, it does... stop being a wussy arse whiner...

i dont think that to many hawk fans complained last week about wearing black and gold... shoot they didnt even get a choice of which one they wanted to wear... im sure there were a few of you in that crowd though... so dont worry, you can still come.

Penn State fans white it out, and seems pretty awesome... people on here cry about the stupidest **** i have ever read in my life.

I am with you here. If you don't own a yellow shirt, spring the 5 bucks to go get one. I did not see a single Iowa fan wearing the wrong color on Saturday-- and it was a pretty cool sight to see.

This who scenario reminds me of a situation my wife ran into a few months ago. For a family reunion, her immediate family all had to wear the same color. I watched for about an hour as my wife and her sisters argued over which color they would wear, as each sister claimed they either didnt have anything in a particular color, or a certain color didn't look good on them, etc. This whole "yellow-out" "red-out" etc. would be very cool, and would be a very real possibility if people would nut up and get behind it. But some would rather complain...ridiculous.

I think a full stadium that's three times louder than last week would be the best possible outcome. Yes, schemes and color-outs look cool on TV, but ultimatly it's not going to matter if we're short 5k fans and quiet on defense... Lets take one step at a time.

I'm 99.9% sure we don't have any alternate jerseys, but if by chance that .1% is right, this would be a perfect game for it. That would get the crowd going.

I still remember when Georgia came out in red jerseys to begin with, then switched and came out in the blacks later. Awesome.

It would be awesome if we could get pro combat unis. I'm thinking a white helmet too that would be sweet.

actually i think you are the whiner. I was being sarcastic and then you have to blow up all over everyone demanding they wear a shirt of a certain color. I have a really cool Iowa State football shirt that i've worn to every game. Its cardinal, but im wearing it anyway.

Where was the pirate? You should know by now that he is the symbol for sarcasm.

SCREW gold out why would you change from cardinal for a visiting team

Exactly. Id rather wear cardinal, so it doesnt show how many other people's fans are in JTS.

Imagine a 'wear gold' day against Nebraska. 60% gold, 40% red.

I'm sure someone can offer counter-examples, but it seems to me that whenever there's an orchestrated color-coded game, ISU tanks.

I think it's the Golden Rules thing — Nebraska in '06, and at least one recent KU bball game. All losses.

It's like color coordination just brings bad karma or something.

Both KU and Nebraska bring a ton of fans into Ames wearing the opposite color. Part of the reason why it never looks good.
