I've not read the whole thread, but this is rather strong evidence that it is not homesickness that is driving Hamilton away. The next most logical conclusion would be that it is something to do with the program, which would explain the mass defections in the past.
Having pulled for McDermott up until the end of this year, I think it has become obvious that he needs to go. He cannot find any players that want to play for him.

Yes. I want a press conference. I want real answers. I want whole truth. I want the real reason Ham is transferring. If the reason is "his Dad hates me" than so be it. Tell the WHOLE TRUTH. If college basketball recruiting is dirty I want REAL MEN (not just GMac) to start stepping up and exposing the cheaters.

If you are McDermott and a player tells you that he wants to transfer because
A) He wants to be at a program that has a better chance of winning and going to the NCAA tournament
B) He feels a different coaching staff will develop him better as a player
C) He just doesn't like the situation at ISU
Is that what you would you would put in the press release? Or would you ask the player to allow you to issue the press release that the reason is "Wanting to be closer to home"

He also did say 50/50...that mean in 100 chances 50 times one thing will happen the other 50 times another outcome will happen. For instance you take a quarter out of your pocket and flip it 100 times 50 times it will come out heads then the otehr 50 times it will come out tails(within some variation). That example makes sense right?
our basketball program has become one of the biggest jokes in the big 12 and in the NCAA, how does JP not see this, and if he knows more important info on why greg should stay, us fans deserve an explanation. It's getting old, can't jp see that when we have to replace everyone every year its impossible to get a solid start. The worst thing JP did was defend mac before any of this happened.
The worst thing an AD did was defend one of his coaches? I could understand if you meant to use hire him instead of defend but he obviously has to defend his coaches.
Within the last hour I went from thinking Ham is gone and Wilkins will be here to them both being here to them both not playing for us next year.
So if the money was there, and it was possible to buy McDermott out, you think JP still would have made the same decision?
