The fact that the coach's own son who has turned into a fine player is not coming to ISU stings even more now that Hamilton is gone.

When are people going to get over Doug going to UNI. It is very rare for a D1 college player to go play for his dad.
If I were in his situation, I think I would do the same thing.
There is just too much unneeded pressure playing for your dad.

Maybe when we win 20 or 8 in conference. Till then, if Doug turns into an Adam Koch, I think we would be reminded every time we play UNI and lose.

1) Coach knows getting 4-5 years more is unlikely based on his first 4
2) Coach wants the best for his son.
3) Maybe Younger McD knows the Women-Men ratio is better at UNI. (had I known that, I would have gone to UNI too)

Nothing wrong with any of this

No one told me this

I don't think playing for your father is a good idea. I think Doug and Greg made the right choice with UNI.

However, it does puzzle me a little bit why some people don't think he's good enough to take 1 of 13 scholarships yet is good enough for UNI... a top 25 team who's been better than ISU for a while now.

I think Doug was good enough for ISU... just chose UNI.

Trivia question - Anybody recall the last player (possibly the only one) to play hoops in a Cyclone uniform for his dad?

yeah he is horrible. He can't hack it at Iowa State. Only UNI where they make the tourney every year. We can't have a guy like that.
