North Dakota St. Game?

It is yet to be determined how Chiz will do. In general, I believe the cream rises to the top in college football- if you are a head coach/assistant at many top programs for years, it is likely you are a good coach.
I will agree with that but I will also say that there are a lot of very good coaches at all levels that are satisfied with were they are, or that stability for their family is much more important than their careers. Other factors that come into play are who you know, where you come from, how well you can recruit, and how old you are(old age working against you and not for you).

We win easily, 65-10.

5 passing TD's.
2 rush TD's.
1 punt return for TD.
1 kickoff return for TD.
We also get 1 safety.

They kick their only field goal late in the 2nd Q.
They score their only TD late in the 4th.

You heard it hear first.

Money says he hopes he's deep for the opening Kick-Off and he hopes they kick it to him...if he houses it I owe him $100 :biglaugh:

I think the staff will want to win this opener without opening up much of the new offense. Iowa is what they will be aiming at. So, I would expect us to win scoring below our potential. 21-10 or something like that.

I'm hoping that the only time NDSU kicks it off is at the start of the 2nd half.

However, Money is going to have a few a good shots at returning those kicks early, as the scouting report tells 'em that LJ is the kick return stud. If Money goes wild on a couple kicks early on, people will just have to start kicking it out of bounds!

I will say this. If we struggle to run the ball and get pressure on the QB like we did last year vs SDSU then we will again be in for a long season.

Uhhhhh...... We didn't get pressure on the qb last year against SDSU? He just threw 5 interceptions all on his own right? :jimlad:

I CANNOT WAIT for this game, and I love the idea above. 2 threats will certainly change how folks kick to ISU.

Oh, and BISON BURGERS are a great idea.

I hope he takes one to the house too. By the time opening day rolls around it will have been nearly 15 years since ISU took a kick back to the house.

Troy Davis vs Colorado in 1994.

North Dakota State is in it's 5th year of D-I football. Up until then, they played in the Noerth Central Conference, and were a perrenial D-II power. I believe they won more national championship titles than any other D-II program.

They are well coached, and play hard. They play in an indoor enviroment (Dome), so playing outside is not easy for them. I will say this. If we don't come to play, NDSU could very well beat this team. But I think we will come to play, and I look for a pretty sound win, something like 38-10.

Do not take them lightly. Despite losing last season to SDSU, they are a better team than SDSU. They play in the MVC with UNI, Western Illinois, etc etc.

Remember Cal-Poly last year. They should have beaten Wisconsin. same scenario.

So does SDSU. I would assume they are a very, very similar team to SDSU. Also, SDSU finished in the FCS top 20, which NDSU didn't. NDSU was not a better team than SDSU last year.

After watching Herman's offense, he won't play it close to the vest. He wants to score everytime he has the ball. If he can run up the score he will. Iowa State will need 40plus points in just about every game to have a chance to win. Same formula as Kansas in the past few years.

I watched NDSU play the gophers the last couple times they were in Minneapolis and they didn't just win (& almost win) on luck.....they are very well coached, play very hard and are not intimidated by anyone.

If our guys come out overconfident and expecting to walk right over them - I'm gonna be nervous. We truly do need to hit them "coming off the bus" and let them know that it's gonna be a long night under the lights at Jack Trice. With that said, I'm pretty sure our guys are gonna be hungry to get their knocks in.

Kansas has had a pretty salty defense in during their recent success, but yeah I understand your point.

OH BOY! THIS WILL BE FUN!

#1 - keep predicting the blowout *wink*

#2 NDSU was better than SDSU last year, dont let that last game fool you, it didn't mean squat to NDSU and 5 players from NDSU got NFL invites, 1 drafted.

#3 back to #1, SERIOUSLY?? 65-10?? is this guy on crack?

#4 CANT WAIT TO PARTY WITH YOU IN TAILGATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I like to post a lot of sarcastic things. That being one of them. I musta forgot the :jimlad: in that post. Do I really think we will win 65-10? heck no, it would be awesome. But, it won't happen. However, if it does, you heard it from me first.. My actual real life prediction? I think we will win by 3-4 touchdowns. Similar to our game last year vs SDSU.
Sorry, didn't think you would actually take that post seriously.
