Good way to get an Iowa State fix until football season. Like seeing the new guys and see if the veterans have improved (such as it is). It's also a good way to stalk...er...watch Harrison Barnes.:smile:
As with any event, sometimes you get a hit, sometimes a miss. Movies, sports, concerts, etc etc. If you enjoy anything, good chance somebody doesn't understand why.
Too bad you went to the boring matchups. :wink:

Seriously, though, it's hard to keep up sometimes.
I will admit they are pretty boring. But I've seen some stuff the last few years that should have tipped me off on things. For example, last year I only saw Buck and Pomlee play once and I thought they didn't look ready. And they weren't. That's why I go, to give myself a somewhat better idea as to how we'll do.
It's too bad that we couldn't have redshirted Buckley. I think we saw glimpses of what he was capable of last year, but he needed a year to acclimate. Now he's only a year behind DG and we have Colvin coming in, so that could mean that Buck might only see 1 season of serious minutes. If he wants to crack the lineup, he's going to need to learn how to play without the ball and be able to knock down the 3 consistently.
A couple things I see...
A) I'm really happy Colvin is playing with Harrison Barnes. They could form a bond... next thing you know... BOOM! Barnes commits to be a clone. (It'd be cool... right?)
B) Why are there no hawks? I thought I remembered them playing in it previously. Do they play in a different league for summer ball?

They play in the Prime Time League which also has UNI players. I believe it is in North Liberty
Oh yeah... ok. I do remember that. Thanks. Sorry.. I move away from Iowa for a couple years and BOOM... there goes any knowledge I have of the place. I can't wait to spend another week in God's country this summer for RAGBRAI.

Yeah, I can't think of any ex-Iowa players who played in the CCL. There have been a few ex-UNI players, but no Iowa players. It's good to see so many former D1 players in the league this year. It raises the level of competition more than just random small-college players.
