***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

Get up into the mountains in New Mexico its not bad at all, best time to visit, much like Colorado or Utah.
Arizona is similar. My grandparents had a house in the valley outside Phoenix, but had a trailer in the mountains (town is called Snowflake ironically), that they stayed in for 3-4 months when the heat was at its worst.

No, that’s fine. They just need to recalibrate their scale. If the green limit were 500 instead of 50, you wouldn’t worry a bit. No one really knows what the raw data is telling you. It’s all about where that little arrow is pointed. They’ll get that fixed in the next day or two. Don’t want anyone panicking over something like air quality.

Damn Canadians. Every year they have these issues. Figured their forests would all be burnt after 10 years or so if this.
I think this smoke is actually more from a Minnesota fire that has spread into Canada (if the radio show I listened to on the way to work this morning is correct)

Most of WI is in 'limit time outside' or 'stay inside' advisories currently. Might get better later today.

Air quality is BAD in Twin Cities. On a numeric scale it's crazy bad but one step outside and you know it's really bad without really needing to have seen a warning. Way worse this morning than last evening, at least in my hood.

Went down into furnace room and shut off outdoor air intake so at least it doesn't smell smoky in the house yet.

As bad as it is in the Twin Cites, it's far worse near the north shore. Here's the sensor from the Duluth Canal area
