**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

I don’t think they could come up with the money for Milan right now, unless there is a specific “Hyvee” type deal that will pay for Milan specifically
You said you think correct? So you’re disagreeing with me based on nothing more than a guess? All I said was if we could come up with it as you suggest why couldn’t we for someone like the ASU post? A rim protector might actually be more valuable in TJs system as these recent articles suggest?

KSU under Tang. Elite 8 in 22-23 trainwreck ever since. No one would trade our last 4 seasons for their elite 8. SD State’s trip to the finals, maybe.
Agree, one Elite Eight appearance won't immediately change perceptions of a program. I'd rather have ISU's record of NCAA/Sweet 16 tourney appearances. At the same time, you have to give credit to the Iowa coach. Success at every place he has been can't be ignored, regardless of the competition level.

Revenue share and NiL are not interchangeable. Athletes can still earn NiL endorsements beyond school paid revenue share.

The wrinkle, supposedly, is that NiL deals must reflect fair market value for legitimate services. This little bit is what is supposed to shift NiL to it’s original intention and away from “pay for play” That is where auditors (Deloitte) are supposed to come into play. An auditor is apparently supposed to be able to determine fair market value of NiL deals. It’s all insane because really who’s to say what “fair market value” is? I guess Deloitte (where is jimlad when you really need it).
This is correct.
There is a wrinkle at ISU. We are stressed to meet the revenue share $. Jamie does not want donors to give to NIL, but rather contribute to the general fund / which supports revenue share. He is in a tough spot.
At Penn State they have a large staff who connect players with NIL $. They have all the $ they need. We have no such group.

We should hire Penn State’s people away. /s

didn’t we have a group at one time called the we will collective but jamie got rid of it when revenue sharing was set up?

If I had to guess, I'd say that our budget is more evenly spread this year than last. Our returning guys surely got a nice bump as all four would have had good value in the portal, and I think Singleton and Johnson probably took a decent amount to land too.
Again that’s not the point I’m making.

Some BigXII updates today:

Elmarko Jackson (KU) is going to Georgetown
Baylor picked up a top guard in the portal in Kayden Mingo (PSU)
Keanu Dawes (Utah) is going to Kansas

A couple bigs entered the portal just today: Luke Bamgboye (TTU) and Baba Miller (Cincy)
Please never let me hear John Walter’s say “Baba Miller” ever again. Scarred after the last time
