JJeff Injury Updates

Sure buddy, you’re actually an idiot if you watched Jefferson writhing in pain and couldn’t put a touch of pressure on the ankle and thinking he will play again anytime soon
Don’t we see this a lot in football…and then hope the guy will be back later in the game? And sometimes he is? Just think we should wait it out…see what happens.

10 years older than Jefferson I tore ligaments in my ankle landing on a foot. Couldn't put any weight on it at all the next day, couldn't walk for a week, turned all manner of blue purple and black that eventually worked its way down to my toes. The first day I could walk on it that week later, I ran a 5K. He has much better support and treatment than I had. He might be done but it's not necessarily true.

I did a 3rd degree sprain to my right ankle first day of football camp my senior year of HS, that was told after the fact would probably need surgery to ever be "right" again. Spent nearly the first week mostly on my back on the couch. Took 3 weeks to heal enough for me to even begin practicing on it again, and it felt bad all season long, and then resprained it early in the wrestling season, basically ending my HS athletic career. Never got the surgery (my dad was a cheap bastard when it came to doctors and medical stuff), and it took a decade for the ankle to heal by itself where I wouldn't roll it just because I stepped on a crack on the sidewalk or a pebble the wrong way, and if I'm barefoot and wearing shorts, anyone can tell something happened to my ankle earlier in my life just by looking at it.

All that said... I never got anywhere close to the type of treatment JJ is already starting to get for it, and I highly doubt he'll ever have the same issues I had with my ankle because of that treatment. And I'm guessing he'll be able to play on it, probably not Sunday, but next weekend.

We'll see. Do you have evidence of guys coming back fast after being on crutches and helped off the court on short notice? You seem like you are in denial more than anything.
Brahmer left the field in an ambulance and played the next week. Some things appear worse than they are.

Yeah obviously coaches aren’t gonna say anything until tip on Sunday id be very shocked if he played. I’ve worked in sports med and orthopedics the last 10 years, he’s a D1 athlete he will recover quicker than your usual person but it’s a tall ask to be ready in 48 hours
Much different than your post saying he's done at Iowa State.

I love all of you that had an ankle sprain in high school 15 years ago.

I have my doubts we see Jefferson play again for us, but he’s going to get better treatment than any of you guys did playing for a 1A school in Iowa. It’s a dumb comparison.

I also doubt anyone had the elite strength and conditioning it takes to be a high level D1 athlete.
