Could someone please explain to me how the "experts" still have Auburn in the tournament? Is this just a ploy to get more SEC/BIG teams in the tournament?

Yes. I don’t think the media has realized that Bruce Pearl isn’t coaching there. They just don’t pay close enough attention and see the name Auburn and assume they’re good.

All the teams fighting for that last 11 seed are kind of ass. Auburn, Indiana, Stanford, VT

Don't sweat the seeding your seeing. We are a 2 seed unless we lose 1st game in k.c we're not dropping from 4th best team to 9th best team in committee's eyes.

Ill never trust the committee but yeah, it's hard to see how we should have slid that far just by taking a few high-quality losses. The AP poll seems to recognize that, hopefully the committee feels the same

I understand the sentiment, but I think this idea of Auburn being safely "in" is waaay overblown. I just checked BracketMatrix.com, and as of today, a whopping 11 people have them in the field.

Yeah, kinda sucks. Honestly if you finish under .500 in your conference you should be ineligible unless you win your conference tournament.

Probably although retroactively that would take away the '22 Sweet 16 from ISU.

It would be interesting to see what the tourney field would look like but maybe only a handful of teams would be in the sub.500 conference record column.

If not for the mouthpiece of the SEC saying so id guess that that number would be even smaller

They gave ISU the last 2 seed literally 2 years ago.

They scrub the seed line daily this time of year. I still think as of right now, ISU is #7 or #8
I know. Just saying as a Cyclone, I'm conditioned to not expect the best results all the time.

Also would have to wipe these ISU appearances:
1994-95 (6-8)
1991-92 (5-9)
1987-88 (6-8)

Auburn's situation is kind of double-ugly, the conference record isn't good (in a largely top-heavy league this season) and overall record is hovering near .500.

They're also 2-8 in their last ten games. Woof.

On the coach’s personality alone UConn should be dropped more in the rankings. And it’s always perplexing when a team that lost to the team directly below them gains a higher rank.
Agreed. UConn should be lower. They have had some bad losses and play in a really weak conference. Plus their coach is a d1ck.

Why? I think out seeding has been more than fair for as long as I can remember. The last time I felt we got screwed on a seed was 26 years ago.
The '19 Prohm team was low seeded as a 6.

I assume the (4) 1's are locked with combo of Duke, AZ, M, FL
The 2's a real battle: I don't have complete faith we'll be picked over: Uconn, IL, Houston, MSU. That's also not counting Gonzaga or Nebraska.

If it were me picking I'd put us in the 7th or 8th #2.
