***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

Iowa piling up all of the good losses.

Maybe a 4 seed?

Insufferable. My goodness, all they do is whine and b*tch. It's insane and constant. Some sort of virus that infects every sports team they field (and every fan too). It's almost mathematically impossible to be so egregiously easy to hate. Universally by everyone.

I'd take Manyawu and Banks on this year's ISU team. And Stirtz of course. Leave the rest out in the cold.
IDK …. Stiz yes… probably better coaching and we could make him a real player, but I doubt he has the heart and guts to play with TJ and our guys in the BIG 12

He sure as hell couldn't play 40 min/ game for Otz. Manyawu and Banks would fit Otzelball i think.

McCollum is one hell of a coach. I just don’t know if he will ever be able to recruit well enough to be on top half of the Big Ten ever.
He can coach defense. I haven’t seen much else. Stirtz carried his ass this year in that Hoosier like offense. No way they replicate that without him.

Not really. That squad is about as experienced in that system as humanly possible. Everyone should have absolutely expected them to have success in year 1. Barely ANY teams can match that continuity and familiarity.
McCollum is not impressive because he kept his team/players together?

TJ kept Lipsey, Momcilovic, Jefferson, Heise, etc. together...

Good Lord, Lunardi still has Auburn in? I guess the Big Ten and SEC get a certain number no matter how much those last teams suck
The bubble is really weak this year but no team that's near .500 should get an at large bid, that's ridiculous. I don't care what the strength of schedule is when you only win half of your games. They've also lost to Mississippi, Mississippi State and Oklahoma in the last few weeks and haven't had a high quality win since January, they shouldn't even be in last four out.

Hope Fred kicks some suckeye ass on Sunday…. He was pissed how the game went in ia ****** where they should have won !!
With a loss suckeyes really don’t deserve to be in the tournament!
But ,…. Committee likes a story and that’s what they get with Bennie mcsuck and his wonder boy …they were the buzz last year and they will likely get a bounce off of that, even though they don’t deserve it !!

Those guys that followed mcsuckum to ia ****** had NO OTHER CHOICE…. Except for probably wonder boy stiz … they rest ? NO !!

What TJ has accomplished at ISU is more impressive than what McCallum has done at Iowa

UNI is in a dog fight with Evansville right now. They can't lose this one. Drake advanced earlier, broke a 9 game skid

At the same school.
Don't think they would follow TJ if he changed jobs? That's how college sports works now. Everyone commits to a coach, not a school.

I get it, all I said was McCollum hanging with Michigan is impressive with what he has. A lot of people on here will never give an Iowa coach credit, but that is a hard school to win at in BB. No matter the circumstances of how coach/players got there.

Granted I've seen about 2 1/2 Iowa games but I don't know why people keep saying this.

PSU almost beat Michigan and I don't see the same things being said about their coach.

He's the next shiny new thing that might get them decent like their best the past 40 years.
I’m with you. Iowa is going to make the tournament by playing good teams close. 1 good win. Guess you get tons of analytic credit for keeping it close. They lose to NE Saturday and their first game in the tourney, they gotta be bubble bound.

I mean if TJ went to Duke I'd think he'd need to get the Boozers of the world to be able to coach there.

Love ISU's players...but they're not Boozers.

I didn't find PSU's coach impressive for staying with Michigan some random night two months ago and I'll say the same about the new Iowa coach.
