Is the new chicken place in campustown any good?
Do they have more mustards than just yellow?Anyone else check out Daisy's Dog House down by Fuji and the Mongolian grill? We stopped by a couple weeks ago, and it was very good. The menu isn't giant, but they have a large variety of creative, and huge, specialty hotdogs. Worth stopping by.

Is KFC coming there a definite??I see they are finally doing some work on the old US Bank property by the mall in north Ames. Can’t wait to have KFC only a couple blocks away from our house!
Yeah, I agree. It's good. They have a lot more sauces than Canes, including one that is a replica of Cane's sauce. Also their chicken comes in either regular or spicy. The spicy is better, in my opinion, but both are good.I've been there a couple of times. It's about what you'd expect from a Raising Cane's knock-off.
Unsure if it was only my meal but it was a tad salty...it was very hot and fresh though. Is the new chicken place in campustown any good?
Man, I went to the old battles in high school all the time. BBQ with texas roast and lemonade was amazingWhen I was a student, I REALLY liked Battle's BBQ. They had a location on Welch. I think they moved elsewhere and closed down shortly thereafter... It was a really good lunch deal at the time.
I don't recall, I'm sorry.Do they have more mustards than just yellow?
The one on Hayward behind the bank was peak.Man, I went to the old battles in high school all the time. BBQ with texas roast and lemonade was amazing
If I could magically bring back two Ames restaurants, they would be Battles and DiSalvos deliThe one on Hayward behind the bank was peak.
All these years later and I would know that smell and taste immediately.
Boy, disalvos. Haven't heard that in a long time. I think they were they in Colorado Junction? If I could magically bring back two Ames restaurants, they would be Battles and DiSalvos deli
I don't know what DeSalvos was. When and where was that?Boy, disalvos. Haven't heard that in a long time. I think they were they in Colorado Junction?
OMalley and McGees would easily be one of mine.
Winner, OMalley McGees!Boy, disalvos. Haven't heard that in a long time. I think they were they in Colorado Junction?

Battles and DaVinci’s. I’m dating myself and my nostalgia stomach might be remembering good times over good foodsIf I could magically bring back two Ames restaurants, they would be Battles and DiSalvos deli
I bet desalvos has been gone for 20 some years now? They were in the CJ, I think where Pammel is now.I don't know what DeSalvos was. When and where was that?
Battles, O'Malley and McGees, and was it George's pizza on Main? I liked all of those a lot.
Jimmy’s is pretty good too. Haven’t been there in a while, but I always thought it was good for the cost. I really like Watcha Smokin but it is pricey.Jimmy B's Barbecue in Boone is run by a former Battle's employee. They have everything George had on his menu in Ames and more.
