What's the relationship with Brezina that would cause one to cry on the air?
2 years ago CW hosted a fundraising event for Living Ava’s Way in Bondurant. They had a fake wrestling promotion there. CW and Brezina were tag partners in a fake fight.

My guess is CWs tears are more for Brezinas character going to a fundraising event for a family he never knew over a backup LB leaving

I don’t remember who said everything, but I think it’s an implication from two rumors: Campbell wanted Mouser to take over, and (2) Campbell and the former staff are telling players who won’t be joining them at Penn State to enter the portal and look for a different landing spot. That rumor came from a poster who said that he had a son who knew two of the players, and that’s what those players said.

So it’s just rumors on here
If true, that's a crappy thing to tell the kids.....because we all know some could end up in a worse situation .

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllll he didn't have to transfer from ISU, it was his choice.

Thank you. I honestly didn't know. Figured there was some kind of personal connection there.

I get skeptical now....did he go on his own accord or was it part of a We Will kick back or even paid to be there?

That's what stinks now....can't tell who is genuine vs just doing it for money.

Speaking of, Jaylin Noel responded on Twitter to Coopers post about fans and said essentially "people leave for more money in jobs all the time"

True....but these aren't jobs? Right? Really wish they'd just pull the band aid and make them employees and all that.

Finally a reasonable response. Matt took over one of the worst programs in CFB and made us relevant for 10 years. Since 1920, we had 20 coaches. One of them had a winning record. The players leaving now came to ISU, in many cases, because of him. They know nothing about Jimmy and have a chance for a do over. And the ones being hated on are the guy who is our winningest coach who was loyal for 10 years and the players?
When we look back it will be called the Campbell era just like it was the Earle Bruce era. I was at school for the later. I remember the players who gave all for ISU, not so much the coach other than he left for Ohio State where he pretty much sucked. Never followed Bruce after he left. Didn’t hate him for leaving, but also didn’t really care. I’m sure it will be the same with Campbell. We will remember players like Purdy and Hall and not so much the coach or staff.

And when I leave a job I don't expect the former coworkers to still be friends and cheer for me in my next endeavor.

Anyone who has had a long career soon figures out money isn’t always everything. After getting my PhD, my major prof at ISU asked me where I thought I might go now. Thought that my research would land me a job at any R1 school. That would mean relatively big bucks too. I said I was staying at Graceland and she was shocked. For me I felt like I was at a place where I was making a difference AND I was near family…especially my parents. Those two things are worth more than tons of money.its about learning what you value.

Todd Blythe's post on X was great perspective (but again, who knows what he would have done in the current era)

I'm with you 100%. When I was young a former boss reached out asking if I wanted to work for him again, but would be a big move....a year later he moved from that job. I was so glad I didn't follow, but at the time he was trying to sell me on the money, career move, etc (which wouldn't have in the long run been worth it).

I also think many of us make these types of decorations when we are like mid-late 20s...not 18 or 19. Many of these kids haven't had jobs and are treating football like one now starting at recruitment....but when they hopefully graduate from their 3rd school and football is over, likely jumping right into a "real job" and probably no super fond memories of a college experience.

I hate the guy and think he's partially at fault for why college athletics is in the situation it is, but I did like what Calipari said the other day regarding this NIL era. Essentially, we got guys going to 3-4 colleges over 3-4 years and we can't pretend like they're getting a degree in that time at one school, so they're taught early to chase the money NOW, and then have no paperwork (diploma) to support them once their college days are done. So you cash in until you're 22/23 and then have to hope what you accomplished from 18-22 can carry you the rest of your life.

Plus there was that sweet, sweet indoor track.

Michigan…MICHIGAN hired a 66 year old coach that got pushed out of his last job.

Pedo state got their 6th choice…and for all CMC did here, let’s not pretend he’s the 2nd coming of Nick Saban. He did a ton of good, but his loyalty, game day decisions, inability to get an O really going at a top level…those are all issues still left unaddressed.

We got a guy who just wins. He’s young. He’s been a HC. He was hand picked to take over a dynasty by his former HC. He’s shown loyalty (13 yrs at SDST), he wants to be close to wife’s family & in a P4 conference. We got him for a low price, got him with an AD he’s already close to and wanted to work for…and was willing to do what was needed to get this job (go to WSU).

Yea, I didn’t know who he was either. But that’s not my job. That’s JP’s. He obviously knew this was a possibility…and you can say JP didn’t do what was needed to keep MC. Unless he’s shutting gold eggs and hiding it from us…or he’s got a way to pry money out of conservative Iowa State alumni…there wasn’t anything he could do.

BUT…if you got one name we should have went after…we’re all ears.
JFR: “I didn’t come here to lose.” That’s all I needed to hear.

Why's it odd? I was there for work, once I left I was moved on.

There are a few past coworkers who we bounce accounting ideas off of, but wouldn't consider them friends, more acquaintances.
I get if you weren’t friends to begin with, but you said still be friends which I took to meant friends but then not friends after you left.

I'm sure there was some money involved. Blum has told the story before of Will McDonald volunteering for Food at First and I'm sure he made some We Will money off doing so. A large part of Campbell's deal with We Will/Iowa State is these guys were doing some good for the community to receive that money.
