I’m sure it was on the up & up. LolIt makes you pine for simpler times when the Lamborghini Bijan Robinson drove around Austin was a loaner.
There are like 2, maybe 3 hills I’m prepared to die on. Dan McCarney earning the right to leave ISU on his terms is one of them.I like CPR…like Danny Mac, he just ran out of ‘turn a rounds’ to sell. You can only rebuild so many times before people realize it’s probably not gonna work.
Both those guys don’t get the credit they should imho…Iowa State was a much tougher place to win back then…especially when Dan started out. Zero facilities and tradition.
He’s the guy who needs a statue.
You’re the John Henry of thread summaries.Such a fun thread. Any tips on how I can make the following logic work?
All of these transfers players should be loyal to Iowa State and not consider any other options for schools, coaches, even if they don't get a long with the new staff.
75% of the transferring players won't end up at a power 4 school.
Matt Campbell purposely is trying to destroy Iowa State football.
Matt Campbell is an overrated coach and will get run out of Penn State
So, the roster Iowa State would have had next year with Campbell would have only had 20 power 4 caliber players and Campbell is a terrible coach and I should be angry that Iowa State will be so much worse next year (than a poorly coached team lacking talent) and I should be pissed that Jimmy Rogers isn't trying to keep all of these non-power 4 players and I should be pissed that Jimmy Rogers is going to fill up the roster with non-power 4 caliber players but apparently they are even worse than the players Campbell brought in who won 19 games the last two years with a bad coach.
My head is spinning.

Rhoads was who ISU needed at the time, but I agree it was likely he was never going to turn the corner. I would have given him another year or two, but that’s about the only evidence needed to show I’d be a terrible AD.
You’re topping my shortlist to replace JP currently.Another year or 2? It should have been a year or 2 shorter.
Good riddance. Penn State fans are gonna lose their minds when they see the team trotting out in all black every other week.Dammit! Losing the black jerseys to the portal.View attachment 164656
So the guy 10 years older who was a coordinator under Jimmy at SDST?
Not saying he’d be bad…but I personally like Rogers better. Younger, both have HC experience and worked in winning programs.
When you get older, you’ll understand you don’t have the drive you used to have.
Ask my wife…she’ll be happy to tell you. Lol
Started watching Two Guys this morning.... and CW starts off talking down to the fans basically and saying they don't understand how everything works like he does. Then he gets all teary eyed again when Hassel brings up Brezina leaving. And then to top it all off... Hassel starts bringing up AGAIN how JP should have hired Mouser. WTF? I turned it off. Maybe I'll watch the rest later if I feel like I can stomach it.
If anyone honestly believes they should have hired Mouser.... they are kidding themselves... and still are too in love with Matt and his staff.
Penn State will NOT be wearing black. At ISU, Matt was able to tell JP what he wanted, and for the most part JP allowed it. At Penn State... Penn State will be telling Matt how things are going to be. They will not allow him to break their traditions... even the criminal ones!Good riddance. Penn State fans are gonna lose their minds when they see the team trotting out in all black every other week.
There's zero chance Adidas is going to allow that. (Penn State switches from Nike over the summer).Good riddance. Penn State fans are gonna lose their minds when they see the team trotting out in all black every other week.
This is correct. He was the DC under a guy named John Stigimier (sp)Pretty sure he wasn't a coordinator under Rogers, I think he was the Idaho coach when Rogers was given the SDSt job.
He won at Idaho he's winning at New Mexico he'd be someone I'd at least interview.
100% agree. Fanboys and Foils should be the name of the show. Mouser was not ready. No more needs to be discussed on this topic.Started watching Two Guys this morning.... and CW starts off talking down to the fans basically and saying they don't understand how everything works like he does. What's the relationship with Brezina?Started watching Two Guys this morning.... and CW starts off talking down to the fans basically and saying they don't understand how everything works like he does. Hassel just likes pulling the pin on that grenade to get a reaction out of CW and to stir the pot. Just a typical hawk fan d-bag.
He kept talking after the ISU/Iowa basketball game how ISU fans are scared of the future of Iowa basketball with McCollum...I think he's scared of the future of ISU football with Rogers.
LOL. Can you imagine the reaction here if we lost a coach to Iowa? This hasn’t been brought up much, but with Rogers wanting to eventually get back to the Midwest - if ISU passed on Rogers there’s a chance he ends up at Iowa. If he has a successful run with ISU and KF’s successor takes a step back…there’s a what if for them.
