What's streaming that's good TV/movies

Pluribus has been interesting, but its one I wish I'd waited until all episodes were out before starting it.
Finally wrapping up the latest season of Generation V on Prime, and HBO's Peacemaker.

I feel like Pluribus would be a hard show to binge. It's a show that benefited from weekly releases IMO because of the pacing. There's been a lot of talk online about how awful and slow the story has been, but I personally loved watching it. It's a good story to chew on and needs time to marinate from week to week to really enjoy it.

These people saw the first two seasons of Better Call Saul, right?

We are caught up on Stranger Things and awaiting the final episode. Overall, I enjoyed the series, but man, with all the main characters being kids, the timeline of the seasons just pretty much ruined it as they are too old in the final season to be believable. Also, my wife and I found this comical:

Will's big reveal in this last episode was that he was gay, and that Vecna was going to use it against them. My wife and I were imagining the alternate chaotic final scene where the kids are just about to save the planet and Vecna squashes their hope with "lol, Will IS GAY" and then they all melt or something

LOL my Instagram algorithm is littered with a lot of really good content regarding your spoiler.

Had the same reaction to Will’s big reveal. I understand it’s the 80’s and that would have been a huge deal (and still is).

But also, in the face of an impending world-ending event, to gather everyone around at that point in time for that announcement is pretty ridiculous and way out of place.

also to call out that you’re in love with a very straight Mike in front of everyone, including his girlfriend. Like wtf is that. That seems really inappropriate

Volume 2 of season 5 of Stranger things seemed pretty contrived and had lots of filler. Lots of stuff nobody really cares about.

We had planned on watching the finale in the theater but are going to pass on that now and just watch it from home.

I don't know what you mean by "filler" exactly, but those things are certainly subjective and fans are allowed to feel how they are going to feel about them.

But for me personally, I find those quiet moments of dialogue, specifically the deep conversations between some of the "duos" (think Jonathan and Nancy, Steve and Dustin) just as compelling as the action scenes and the greater storyline and plot.

We didn't, and I think it was the fact that they were in the middle of life threatening situations and supposed to be on the final day when the world was to be literally consumed, and they'd stop every couple minutes for a heart to heart chat.

Streaming is a great way to catch up on the classics from one's youth.

Truly enjoyed "The Missouri Breaks" (1976) - free on Tubi, Pluto, also on Prime and YouTube TV.
Brando is outstanding in this. Who knew? (also has Randy Quaid before he turned nutbomb)

And that's totally fine. It would be a boring thread if everyone was in lock step with each other on what we enjoy and dislike from watching these shows.

Oh, definitely. I don't begrudge anyone the entertainment value that they see from something, as it'll hit everyone a little differently, it'll even hit the same person differently on a different day. I've had a couple of movies that I thought really sucked, but loved when I watched it again. Just had the wrong frame of mind on the first watch I guess.

Was worried after episode 7 but it ended up way better than GOT’s finale, don’t understand that comparison at all. All in all it was probably one of the better episodes in a below average season.

Morale of the story is don’t take forever to produce seasons if child actors are the main characters.

I'll agree, not as bad as GoT as that is a crazy bar but still not great IMO. The last 30 minutes or so reminded me of the Lord of the Rings Return of the King. Drug on way too long.

Agree, just do the D&D scene and call it a day. After that last big action scene I checked the time and couldn’t believe it.

What, it wasn’t necessary to tell us Nancy still doesn’t know what she wants and that Steve is a sex ed teacher?

I generally liked the finale enough but yeah SO much filler this season. If they do spinoffs or whatever the Duffers need to let someone else write and direct, I think.

I just finished the finale. Overall, I thought the season was great. I have some nitpicks like the CGI was lousy in some scenes and episode 7 was pretty weak.

But they really landed the plane in the finale imo. I was captivated first the full 2 hours.
