Bring Back The Big Four

Would you for say $4m in state funding from gambling taxes? And it would only be UNI in this case.
I am fine with Drake and UNI at Hilton. ISU is at a point where we can get great home-home deals with big name teams out of conference and the best preseason tourneys. Maximize revenue period.
In theory things like the big 4 sound good, but you ultimately are giving something up for it.

Don’t we have a enough to argue about right now?
1.) there is zero incentive to play these games, our out of conference slate looks much different than it did 10-15 years ago.
2.) I attended the Big Four 3 times and the atmosphere was not good. The Casey's Center is a pretty terrible basketball venue. So much empty space.

LOL speaking of the Casey's Center, Iowa is playing Bucknell there next Saturday and they can't give tickets away.

Powerball dreams - ISU-Drake- UNI - 500k per team per year for home and homes. Cyhawk stays as it is Iowa aint getting my Powerball money.
2 for 1 vs. Drake with the 1 @ Casey's Arena (so Cyclone fans in DMS can pack it) would be fine.
As much as I loved the small town Iowa nostalgia of all 4 teams playing each other home and away... thats just not the world we live in anymore.
There's nothing for Iowa or ISU in playing those guys- you give them more money, a chance at a big win, and a big recruiting boost. Why give UNI or Drake oxygen? Lord knows no one is giving ISU oxygen in football.
I'd like the Big8 back, and a 10 team limit on conferences too. But that ain't happening either.

Why do people hate fun? We should be playing all of them each year. I really doubt that would piss TJ off enough to make him leave lol.
I think playing teams we know is more fun than playing acorn state university. I would rather them be at Hilton, but if they played at Casey's Center and ISU got a rev share of the tickets I can't imagine we lose that much revenue. I'm sure the events center would make a deal to get games there every year. It's fun to have all the teams in one place.

At this point in time, I don't think it is a good idea to take this risk lol

Maybe they should sweeten the deal with free pizza as well. Worked in Carver asylum a few years ago.
WBB actually all play each other courts on alternating yrs.
Pretty sure VB does also. VB would be a empty venue at the Well IMO. ISU VB draws ok at home but I don't see hardly any of those 4 teams fans making a trip to Des Moines for what more than likely would be a overpriced event.
