No Bowl Game — Iowa State Turns Down Bowl Bid

This tells me a mass exodus is happening
Team leadership not as strong as I thought. Strong leadership looks out for the next group and not pouring and only caring about themselves. Taking the bowl means time for the next team to get some practices and reps. Like I said in another, I have a feeling that the coaches were pushing this also.
If the players said they didn't want (or wouldn't) to play what is he suppose to do about it? Campbell is the one who decided to leave not Jamie forcing him out.
Talent level not much different.
Big 12 is 2 teams with a lot of money, and the rest is pretty pedestrian.
CMC is the only one to blame here, he robbed the team and the fans.
The talent level is quite a bit different.
But I guess if we are aiming to be the Oklahoma State or UCF or West Virginia level of the Big 12, then we are in good shape.
But if we are aiming to be Arizona or Arizona State or BYU or Kansas or Kansas State, we are not in great shape.
A bunch of prima donna players who just want their $ and not actually play football.

1) CFP has cannibalized the non-CFP bowls
2) Non-CFP bowls are not going to bring in that much money.
3) There probably needs to be a rule now that if the Head Coach leaves you can opt-out of non-CFP bowls.
4) Shouldn't we be more concerned about how Iowa State (football) is going to sustainably compete in the next 4-5 years against the schools that have plenty of cash flow?

I know some's thoughts on Jamie and agree on some of them, but really I think its odd anyone would think he didn't want to do a bowl game. He knows what it means just as much as we do. He just has to be the messenger as the administrative figure left at ISU. Which points to this being worse than we had hoped.
Yes, losing to UCONN 63-3 in the independence bowl the day it is the only game on tv and all of the Western world witnesses it would be not a good thing. Pretty sure Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, and Missouri would be taking VHS tapes of the game to recruit against us for the next 5 years......Hell, UNI would use it to recruit against us. Not too many up sides to this $hit show. Thanks Longhorn Network. Hell, Even the Montana Coach is recruiting off our Campbell program carcas.

So he’s supposed to hold the players hostage? I am mad at him too but my god this is ridiculous
