“I’ll root for him at Penn State” Poll

The BIG football situation is getting complicated for me. Don't know how to think when it's NE vs. Iowa, NE vs. Penn State, or Iowa vs. Penn State. Now, I might pay some attention to Ohio State vs. Penn State and Michigan vs. Penn State, but may only have a passing interest.

It's so confusing.

Nothing personal against Campbell but PSU hid a child molester for years and their so called hero and culture leader let it happen. That culture of big time school/you can't touch me is part of the reason college football is in the shape it is in. They should fall off the face of the earth and the fact that someone like Campbell is going to lead them makes me sick.

Honestly depends if he guts our team or not. Given I haven't been to PSU yet, if he does do well I most certainly will be wearing my ISU hate when I finally attend a game, and their fans better buy me a few beers.

Since the last round of realignment, I have only paid attention to Big 12 football (and a little bit of Mountain West because I live half a mile from the UNM stadium) - since he’s not at a Big 12 school, he more or less has ceased to exist for me.

I'm rooting for the assistant coaches. Knowing some of the things I do now, I blame Matt less but it will depend on what he does moving forward as well.

I love Campbell but will still be indifferent. Will look probably check the scores, maybe root for him against OSU or Michigan.

Will hope he beats Iowa, just for the schadenfreude that Hawkeye fans rightfully deserve.

I won’t root against him I just have a pretty good feeling that he crashes and burns. And that will tickle me a bit. We have seen pretty bad offenses with defense that held us up and offense slowly catching up with the D.. but still some pretty crap play calling.. I’m not as butt hurt about the situation as some others might be because I feel Campbell has done all that he is capable of doing. Him without heacock will be pretty bad actually.

Then i assume you never met him as a person, and just know him as a coach on Saturdays. I interacted with him dozens of times as my wife recruited for the college of engineering, and there were several key players back in the day. He's a heck of a person when you get to talk to him one on one.

I’ve never been a Penn st fan or liked them at all. I’m a Cyclone alum and born and raised Buckeye. Penn St will never be rooted for in my house!

If there an indifferent option? I'm not going to root against him and am curious how he does with PSU resources, but I'm probably not going out of my way to watch them or root for them either.

I barely have time to consistently follow Iowa State so I'll not be going out of my way to watch Penn State games but I hope he does well and would root for him over the rest of the B1G. The sex abuse thing was pretty terrible but I don't think it's right to blame the entire University and fan base for the actions of a few individuals. When they were an independent, they had a national fan base because of how they ran their program.

I’ll root for Matt at whatever stop is after Pedo U. Will never root for them. They should have been given the death penalty and relegated to a lesser league.

I was told 5 years ago that there were 3 jobs he would entertain and this was one of them. With the success of Ohio State and the new coach doing serviceable at ND, he probably saw this as his last opportunity to really take that next step. Good for him, but I’ll still judge him for where he decided to land. If it would have been OSU, I would have been happy for him.

I feel terrible for the high school kids that signed a NLI on Wednesday and then he was verbally talking to penn state that night, if not earlier… that’s the stuff that needs to change.

IF CW wants to cheer for Penn St too, fine, but he has to understand us fans don't have personal relationships with these coaches.

PSU is in every measurable way a better job than ISU. Who among us wouldn't take a better job if it was offered?
