Matt Campbell to Penn State??

The family thing is ********. It’s pollard saving face. But if Campbell was happy he wouldn’t have moved.

It’s definitely not saving face. The family thing is one of the big reasons. You don’t have to believe me, I couldn’t care less. But there is a family issue at play with the move as well.

Ehh…if he liked it here he would still be here.

Or maybe, just maybe, instead of your childish meltdown, you’d realize the family thing might be serious enough that the Campbells want to be a lot closer to home so if an opportunity like Penn State was offered, it’d be foolish not to take.

Or maybe you’d listen to Blum who is clearly sounding the alarm.

Just going to say this one last thing and then I'm moving on to the new coach, and to the future.

Matt Campbell is one hell of a football coach, and he did one hell of a job with this program. As a Cyclone fan of 45 years or so, he brought Iowa State to levels I never expected to see. He earned our respect and our thanks. I wish him well and hope he goes on to great success.

I saw it mentioned that CMC leaving was preventable, is there any back up to that or more to that story? Today is as dark of a day as I can remember, the uphill climb ahead of us is daunting.

There is, but emotions are high and it's hard to tell exactly what value to put on it when people are close to people who have just left or lost their jobs. It's been quite a day, and you're right there's a lot of work to do from here.

Post in thread 'Fire Pollard'

This is a post by CF’s founder.

I will say that I joined the premium board to see Blum’s posts and came away convinced Pollard is handling NIL poorly.

But it’s important to remember that these people were close to this staff, some of whom had their lives turned over.

Interesting if true, but I don’t understand why Pollard would refuse that? Doesn’t make any sense.
I edited my post to remove that bit because it is a rumor, but it was said that they wanted to give it to Matt to use and Pollard wanted it in the general fund instead.

Because if you only make $6M a year living in Ames IA you can't afford to fly private. I'm sure Matt is loading up the minivan and driving 5 hours to see his family when he has 6 hours of free time from coaching major college football.

yeah cause they definitely can't visit without Matt, because they probably don't do anything the 9 months or so he is working crazy hours.

Then Sukup should make that known publicly and his subsequent desire to get rid of Jamie, otherwise it is just another rumor as you say.

OMG, those rumors regarding Pollard vs NIL vs Sukup are absolutely idiotic and childish. Who cares if they're true? Pollard has saved Iowa State on numerous occasions. His accounting prowess is second to none. What he's done is insurmountable. And we're about ready to embark on CyTown. Name one AD in the entire nation with the fiscal brain power to accomplish what he's accomplished. Those perpetrating and/or embellishing this rumor need to grow up.
