He won't win 12 games by year 3 and they'll want to throw him out on the streets.Hope he gets a huge guaranteed contract because he won’t be there in 5 years. Their expectations are championships inside 2 years.
I actually think he will have a fairly long leash at Penn State. Looking at their 2026 schedule it’s pretty weak. Could go 11- or 10-2 easily. He won't win 12 games by year 3 and they'll want to throw him out on the streets.

Over half of those years came in a totally, totally different landscape for college football. All about the money now.Not sure why Penn State get's that rep when they have had 3 coaches in 56 years. Franklin was there 12 years
I want to be the same, but it really doesn't matter to me how Campbell does at Pedo State. He's likely taking Rocco, Bacon, Brahmer, Eskildsen, and a few of our other best players and turning us into a garbage program again. We are about to become really, really, really bad. Depending on our next hire, we'll see how long it takes to recover. Since Campbell doesn't care about Iowa State anymore, why should we care about Campbell now that he's gone?I don't hold anything against Matt for leaving. We have seen our football team's best success since he was here. We have also seen really good players come through here under his watch.
My one critique would be his quote a few years ago about how people were "embarrassed" to wear cyclone gear before he showed up. I knew this day would eventually come. Matt is moving on to big and better things but I will still be here cheering on my Cyclones like a loyal son forever true.
If he poaches players, lots of them, I think that would change my mind. Not "the process" I was trusting in.I want to be the same, but it really doesn't matter to me how Campbell does at Pedo State. JP has got about as much money out of gameday as possible, ISU games are among the most expensive to attend in the Big 12 and JTS is still pretty much full from week to week. CyTown is not coming on line for a bit yet. There was a time recently where athletics was funding itself with a nice little surplus year to year. That's over.Over half of those years came in a totally, totally different landscape for college football. All about the money now.
He will take Rocco. Since next year is a lost cause I'm hoping we can keep Manske around let him develop as the starter next season. Hopefully Campbell takes our new receivers with him. Sowell and Townsend have been super underwhelming. If he poaches players, lots of them, I think that would change my mind. Not "the process" I was trusting in.
