Matt Campbell to Penn State??

We need to calm down and appreciate everything Coach has done for ISU. Some of the comments here are disgusting. We were nobody, CMC came in and made ISU relevant and for that lets have good things to say about him, not this "hypocrite" talk or labeling him whatever. I will be sad if he leaves, but we just don't have the money to pay the best players out there. So he is limited and might want to look to see what he can do with a lot of money like at Penn State. A lot of us would jump ship if we were in his position, so if there are hypocrites, its most of us commenting here with negative vibe. A lot of us don't even donate to NIL cause yet we want our team to do well. I think we need to stay positive but also find ways we could help our school. I don't know if the peole responsible for raising money for NIL are really doing much because personally I have never received a call or email asking me to danate, granted I don't have a lot of money, but if I can subscribe to watch youtubetv or all those other services, then I can afford a $100 donation. Every little amount helps if used appropriately.

I don't disagree with a lot of this...but I'll always view PSU and Baylor as basically evil super villains for what they did institutionally and how they faced absolutely zero institutional punishment and chose to not take any responsibility as an organization. If ISU had done the same I'd be pissed they chose to intentionally permanently connect my degree to a massive rape syndicate instead of just severely punishing the athletic department for a few years for what it did as an attempt to make some penance and take some responsibility like any moral person or organization would have to do.

It's possible for people to admit Campbell was more loyal to ISU than most would have been (he is/was), but continue to think Penn State can go to hell regardless of who the coach is. It's no different than I feel about the catholic church scandal really. Good and bad people can go in and out of the institution but I will never think the institution itself adequately addressed the evil it did.

Asking people to be happy for Penn State isn't the same as asking people to hope Fred does fine with the Bulls. Aspects of it are the same, but there's this one part that is VERY VERY different. I haven't even gotten into how the Big Ten has worked to destroy the Big 12 in a way the NBA has never actively worked to destroy college basketball.

Again, not all things are mutually exclusive. One can be grateful for the success of the program the last 10 years, but also be pissed for Campbell completely gutting our program at such a pivotal time.

I put this as worse than Lane Kiffin. Kiffin was never shy about who he was. Campbell has been all about "character" and "loyalty" and then he bolts - presumably with half our staff and roster - weeks before a bowl game and 2 days after signing day.
How is Campbell being disloyal?

As an ISU grad and being an alumni is with me for a lifetime. 100x more of an affinity than my graduate degree.

But for Campbell, ISU is a job. Most of us have moved on to take jobs that provide personal growth- whether it be bigger budget, hot industry or more financial security.

It's wrong minded to feel Campbell is being disloyal by job hopping. I'm sure Iowa State and Ames will always be a special place for his family.

Financial security? Good grief. I have no empathy for millionaires.

Is there any chance Jamie didn't offer enough money because he was pissed that Campbell was going away from the block I State and other sports were following him too.

All I'm saying though is that it's rare.....I never would've thought Klieman would retire after this season and the changes in CFB have basically forced him into retirement and he was at K-State for 7 seasons
It’s very rare.

Our AD and Fans weren’t the reason.

It was one of the 2 or 3 jobs that CMC would leave for opened up.

2028 Nebraska plays Penn State. Who do you want to win?

I see this a lot like Hoiberg, I don't have any hate for Nebraska basketball because Iowa State, in the end, ended up with a better coach.
