Matt Campbell to Penn State??

Coach who can win big games......the amount of truly "big games" we play in every year are almost non-existent since OU and Texas left and I'll remind you Campbell was wildly successful against Texas.
Came up short in Arlington twice but no other coach has even sniffed a Big 12 Championship in our entire history. I'll also remind you that he beat OU in Norman as a 30 point underdog with a 3rd string qb...beat TCU in that same year when they were #4.
Iowa State had never won 6 conference games in a season until Matt came along. He also got the 10 win season monkey off our back.

Makes ya kind of wish for a coach as committed as Ferentz. If Campbell bypasses this offer he might qualify.

I'm not going to get mad at Coach Campbell for leaving. Major opportunity for him both financially and program wise. Thanks for what you did for ISU Football.
In saying that I also don't think our program will all of a sudden fall by the wayside. I have faith in Jamie that he will hire a good Coach that will keep the program going strong and maybe even play better in the biggest games.

If it were me as the AD, I would be looking at Nate Scheelhaase, Jason Eck (New Mexico head coach) and native of LaCrosse, WI, Ryan Grubb, Alabama OC, native of Kingsley, IA.
Always assumed that was a weird protection/job security for Pollard rather than MC having some crazy love for him.
Jamie has a list of candidates at the ready, especially with how hot of a commodity MC has been. It’ll be interesting to watch.
Dude, Coach Campbell is the best football coach to ever come here. He deserves this opportunity more than anyone. He deserves it more than any dumbass like Kiffin who has been fed nothing but 5 star recruits and unlimited NIL funds basically everywhere he’s been. I have no doubt CMC will succeed at PSU. And I’ll be happy for him.

There are a bunch of candidates with no Iowa State connections that would be great. Just got to find the right one and not put yourself into an artificial box.
Scheelhaase has best chance of keeping roster together IMO. Best recruiter we have had in long time.
This will be THE most important hire of the Pollard tenure. Cambell was his best hire, now this is the most important one. It sucks that he is leaving but MC has set this program up for future success in my opinion. Tough 2026 probably but I have optimism for the future.
I may recall it incorrectly...but didn't some go to prison? I mean other than Sandusky? I thought come of the school's officials served time? Maybe I am misremembering...
