I actually miss the gold, but I wish we had REAL gold instead of the mustard. It would be sick if we had those shiny gold helmets that ND and Wake Forest have. Put the walking Cy logo on that and let it rip!
I can't believe this warranted an actual story in an actual newspaper.
In basketball for some reason I always relate the gold uniforms to losses. I know the analysis probably says this isn’t true, but I always feel like we play worse in gold. It’s more likely that we reserve those for the big games that we’re not heavily favored in, but I still hate to see the team come out in them.

Is this just the primary color or whether a color exists at all on the uniform? I assume a lot of the red combinations still include gold on accents on the uniform but those aren't getting counted.
Gold seems better as a secondary color, especially when so often the "gold" in a gold-primary uniform has tended to be mustard yellow.
That's my question too, because of the Gray usage, I don't remember wearing gray in the CMC era? We did a few times under CPR.
So is the gray a secondary usage on the black or stormtroopers unis?
Gray pants 6 times and gray jersey 3 times in 2016-17, before the first uniform set change.
And gold pants just 3 times, so the 3:1 pie chart ratio makes sense.
We wore gray that 2017 Iowa game we should've won. When we still had Park slinging it.

I don't like gold either when it's primary (like the mens bball jerseys last year with the script just didn't look as good it would have on white or the red).
I will say though, i LOVE the little bit of yellow on the current uniform trim and the helmets.
