***2026 ISU Volleyball Thread***

Fun match - KJL ran a bunch of players out tonight. The practices must be very competitive - Faith DeRonde goes from star performer to bench and team doesn’t miss a beat. It’s nice to have depth!

16-3 is a good record so far. The next 3 will tell alot about this team. Hate losing Pam McCune right before this stretch.

With ten games left, looking at the season to this point it is night and day to last year. The player rotations and switches… a little less on the injury front, the serving …. The team has more “energy” (thinking energy like the CEO for the men’s bb team) from the freshmen and transfers.

I am still puzzled about Lily, Hendricks-Walker and a few others not coming in, but we don’t see practice, we don’t see how the ladies are feeling or chemistry.

Hopefully we can pull out 2 of these next 3 versus ranked teams and show the team is much better then expected

AHW has been injured but did play today with McCune out.

Wachholz simply isn’t as good as the other OHs who are playing ahead of her (Goolsby, Duckworth, Jackson, Ti’a). She has a very good arm but her lack of athleticism limits her ability to successfully hit less than perfect sets, diversify her hits and also to defend. Not sure who else you think besides her should be playing more.

Tough 4 set loss today at CU. We hit for a higher % and blocks were even. The biggest stat disparity was their 7 services aces vs ISU’s one. We lost two sets 25-23.

Glad to see our RPI creeping up into the top 25. Played well in boulder, was hoping to squeak out set 4 just to see what happened in set 5.

Any updates on Pam? (Less of an issue if AHW is back at mostly full strength) crazy we’ve played 5 different MBs at some point this year- and all have looked the part.
