The Tech fans are sadly very similar to Hok fans. Nothing should be thrown on the field, ever.

Against Arizona state they basically rang them non stop when ASU had the ball.I don't believe it's a free-for-all with the cowbells in non-con games for MSU. We were at their home game against Alcorn St, Our granddaughter told us the rules before we even entered the stadium. They were followed in that game.

I can only speak to the game I attended, and to what my granddaughter told me. I didn't watch the ASU game.Against Arizona state they basically rang them non stop when ASU had the ball.
It died because people started to realize it's never going to happen. With Walden after the first quarter of the first game it was better to eat the oranges. The tortillas don't bother me back in the 80s ISU threw oranges into the end zone after the 1st touchdown of the 1st game because "we were orange bowl bound"
It was a quirky thing to do. Not sure when it died out.
It’s on par with painting the opposing teams locker room all pink because “it makes them calm and seduded” and for underlying misogynistic reasons. The sound on the broadcast for the ASU-MSU game was the most bizarre thing I've ever heard. Sounded like a game-long technical issue.
Bush league stuff, shouldn't be allowed in any game.
I see what you did there.Crazy to me that some places are allowed to get away with things that would never fly anywhere else.
I recall a lot of oranges being thrown ironically when ISU had some very bad teams...It died because people started to realize it's never going to happen. With Walden after the first quarter of the first game it was better to eat the oranges.
Good byeTaco Tech is just pulling out all the stops to get invited to the SEC...
That's pretty absurd Kansas get fined the same amount as Tech.
In 1981 ISU started the conference season 2-0-1 with a tie against top ten Oklahoma and a win against top ten Missouri. There were oranges being thrown on the field at the time. We lost the last four conference games, scoring a total of 32 points in those games. That's why many of us old-timers don't get too excited when we start a season 5-0 like we did this year.I recall a lot of oranges being thrown ironically when ISU had some very bad teams...
...or maybe that is sarcastically.
During the ISU game at TT in 2021, the students behind the ISU bench were removed and had to find somewhere else to sit or leave the stadium. The student section in Lubbock is (or at least was the last I knew) right behind the visitors bench and closer to the sideline than at most stadiums. The students are relentless to the players there which is okay, but they also throw ****, like batteries, when they can get away with it. The pocket knife only surprises me because it isn't something worthless like a used battery they are throwing.
The gameday hijinx at Tech is trash and cleaning it up is long overdue.
I think actually throwing stuff on the field is much worse than lying about it.If Leipold lied about the pocket knife, then I don't disagree with the fine.
