Creighton exhibition discussion (see post 178 for Jake's link)

Turns out the online streaming gig is a real moneymaker. Somebody I know got 3 pay-per-views for the same game due to a glitch on the page. Couldn't possibly have happened any other way.

Not sure yet if that innocent dupe can gift those to anybody. Stay tuned this week for the investigation.

Don’t read too much into these “games”. It’s like the NFL scrimmages. Teams get a chance to play against someone else instead of themselves. Coaches use the opportunity to try different lineups. The outcome isn’t indicative of any success/failures for the season
I miss the Cap City over-reactions posts. Legends were made and destroyed

Exhibitions may not mean anything, but back in the days when we used to actually play them, if we looked bad in the exhibition (lost, or played close with a crappy team), we usually sucked that season.

If you can pay $8 to watch it via Creighton why can't ISU provide a similar thing?

I'm not taking anything away from it but it would be fun to watch just for something different.
It should be super easy for Iowa State to set up a live stream of the thing. Don't even need fancy equipment, ISU basketball should just create an only fans charge $5 and live stream it there. Don't even need to upload Tamins feet pics or anything (that might be lucrative tho).

Iowa is way more interesting to me this year. Just total unknown where with Fran you had almost two decades where mediocre was a hard ceiling…and it was fun seeing Iowa fans take nearly two decades to wake up to that reality.

I forgot who was the NEXT guy. Maybe Tavon Sledge?

I’m not slamming Troy Davis or Cyclone fans or even Garza…but Hawkeye fans out there glossing themselves over Garza those years…it must have been how Iowa fans looked puzzled at an arrogant ISU fb fan the TD years. Garza’s personal hardware is really all they have for an entire generation, not unlike TD’s achievements for the worst 20ish years of ISU fb.

It’ll be interesting to see where they go, I know the new guy won’t get 2 decades of being mediocre like Fran. Either he’ll win or it’ll be a short experiment as is normal these days. They already have more true point guard play than the past decade.
