Possible uneven revenue sharing in the B1G. That's not a successful model. Gonna be lots of 2nd class schools.

Anyone who believed that Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, USC, and Penn State would put up with Northwestern, Purdue, etc. making the same amount of money as them were living in fantasy land.About to gut the very thing that made the Big 10 the behemoth it is. And I’m here for it.
The thing that made the Big 10 the behemoth it is was that Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State never showed interest in joining another conference and instead brought the big brands to them.About to gut the very thing that made the Big 10 the behemoth it is. And I’m here for it.

That's really it. If Texas, Nebraska, Aggy, and Oklahoma had taken that same mentality there's no reason the Big 12 couldn't have the same power.

They still have a tone of cache. They might not be OSU but Nebby is in the same tier group with PSU and Oregon and a few other in the big 10 pecking order when it comes to redistributing the wealth. The most infuriating thing about the Big 12 realignment is that, while they had started their decline, Nebraska still had a ton of cache before they left. They could’ve spearheaded reforms that left the Big 12 on more stable footing, but instead they whined about Texas then took their ball and left.
If they do it, they will have killed the golden goose. Hardly anyone outside that conference will have any interest in watching them. I certainly won't.It’s only a matter of time before OSU and Michigan and maybe a couple others in the Big 10 and SEC go to a hybrid conference affiliation/independent and make all that sweet money that ND made this last year.
Expansion is mostly done. Contraction is what is coming next.
I pretty much only watch games involving Big 12 teams. I just don't enjoy watching B1G or SEC football strictly because of their arrogance and really bad football for B1G. I may watch some G5 games but those are on weeknights. If they do it, they will have killed the golden goose. Hardly anyone outside that conference will have any interest in watching them. Yeah, I figured it wouldn’t happen until the bubble started to burst (or at least slowed down)I knew (hoped?) this was coming, but this is sooner than I expected.
