Big 12 vs Big Ten Debate

League has 18 teams, the Michaign win was fine in a down year but who is their best win besides that? Nebraska?

Not sure what shifted between last year everyone dumping on their schedule (deservedly so) and now trying to use it to make a point about how good they were/are.

Just some weird takes
How many Big Ten coaches would prefer to see Indiana on their schedule rather than Michigan?
I’d bet zero…

Just saying Michigan doesn’t belong in that group anymore. The “brand” sure, but not the team on the field.
Did you even watch them play last year?
So one year where they beat OSU and bama in a down year, a season after they won a natty is enough to just dismiss them as not belonging?

Again, what a wild and shortsighted take. They just brought in the best QB in the class and a whole cadre of 4/5 stars. Give the new staff more then a year to rebuild

I bet every single one, epically on the road. The talent at Indiana just isn’t there yet.

Man I have never seen anyone stump so hard for Indiana football. Who knew one good year in an entire programs history catapults you to world beater status

It sounds like you grew up worshipping Michigan. Time to face reality in 2025.

Ask yourself if the Big 12 teams had a 90 mil dollar payout, how would they perform? You are arguing from a perspective of one league has way more resources allocated to them by a rigged system. Big 10 and SEC fans are bragging or riding around on a high horse a lot because they essentially are born on third base or are starting a 100 yard race at the 50 yard line. And the kicker is programs like Iowa, Purdue, Miss State, Vandy, Kentucky, Indiana, Rutgers, etc..are simply the beneficiary of their conference association. Without the allocations, they have nothing on most of the ACC and Big 12 schools.
yeah if they truly restructured the "P2" to include the top 24 to 32 brands.....there would be some very unhappy SEC and Big Ten schools who currently ride their conference juggernaut coattails.

I'd say those from the Big Ten who would be included for sure are

Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Oregon, Nebraska, UCLA

from the SEC your haves are

Bama, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, LSU, Texas, OU, A&M, Tennessee

Then there are some secondary tiers but programs who would be in danger would be Vandy, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, and Northwestern.

I'm afraid getting national respect for Big XII will be an uphill battle. If you go to the the College Football tab in USA Today Sports there are buttons for "Big 10 Sports" and "SEC Sports".
something else I notice is that there's almost no Big 12 alumni who are in sports media. Everyone in sports media seems to have graduated from either an SEC or Big Ten school.

Pretty much.

Not really. Nebraska was playing for Big 12 conference titles nearly every year then joined the B1G and fell off a cliff.
Nebraska??? Are we turning the clock back to the mid 1990s? Wow!

Weird how Utah transitioned to the Big 12 and goes 2-7. Weird how their first game following that 2-7 year is against a Big Ten opponent (in their house) and they win by 50. All of it is strange.

My biggest gripe against the Big 10 is that there is a perception of being defensive powers, in reality it is because the Big 10 West has played against next to 0 NFL caliber quarterbacks in the last decade. Of course your PPG and YPG allowed is going to look good against QB's from Iowa, Wisconsin, etc.

Weird how Utah was a top tier team in the Pac 12 for years and years with now Big Ten USC, Oregon, UCLA and Washington and go 2-7 in their first year in the Big 12. Weird how that happens.
Weird how ASU was a Pac12 format for years but won the Big12 their first year. Weird how that happens

I’m saying that in a league of 18 you will have 8-9 teams in the bottom half of the league. Indiana played all of them last year and avoided most of the top half of the league.

I mean if yo want to defend Indianas schedule last season go for it but that’s a wild take
Sounds like you just made the case why the Big 10 should be a one bid conference.

Now this I agree with, it’s more bad offense than a bunch of elite differences. Only reason that rep still exists is due to the nfl draft and even then it’s not realistic
