So, Minnesota will almost certainly be the host for college game day when their matchup with Penn State arrives on 11/9 right? They are unlikely to lose before then with games against the mighty Rutgers and Terrapins. Penn State will likely not have more than 1 loss and I think will likely be undefeated as well. They have a slightly more difficult road with games against Michigan and Michigan State.

Minnesota has certainly benefitted from a cupcake schedule, but they have taken care of business. It was fun to see them kick Nebraska's ass also. It would be their first time hosting.

Could someone update the uninitiated on injuries?

Injuries I know of...

JaQuan Bailey - Had surgery, possibly out for season?
Kene Nwangwu - Nagging issue, who knows?
Greg Eisworth - Sat for WVU, but hopefully back for TT?
O'Rien Vance - Knocked out of game for WVU, but back for TT?

Injuries I'm possibly making up in my head...

Deshaunte Jones - DIdn't hear anything about him being injured, but saw he didn't have any catches against WVU. Seems weird for a guy that usually has 10 in a game. If injured, could explain to me why Purdy struggled slightly more than usual.

Glad we have a bye week before the OU and Texas games.

Braxton Lewis - Erlich National Team of the Wk

Congratulations and great game Braxton!

SAFETY
Braxton Lewis, Iowa State

Lewis flew all over the field for the Cyclones, finishing with six total tackles without a single missed attempt. He was targeted just once as the primary coverage defender and yet he still made an interception and an additional pass breakup in a dominant effort on the backend of the Iowa State defense.

Role players were huge today

Shout out to our “non-traditional” stars today. They were 100% the difference. Guys like Jamahl Johnson, Breece Hall, LaMichael Pettway, Brayden Narveson and others.

We were missing three defensive starters and only gave up 1 TD on defense. Completely shut them down.

ISU teams of the past would be solid at the top of the depth chart, but struggle as the season went on and injuries piled up. It’s fun to watch young guys get their chance and come in and succeed.

Side note: Zach Petersen is going to be playing on Sundays in 3-4 years.

Player development

The question that has consistently come to me about previous staff issues with success has been whether they “missed” on recruits or didn’t develop the recruits they got. Watching Matt Leo, Zach Peterson, and many others tells me that this staff is developing talent and that is so impressive, something missing in the past. What a great time to be a cyclone.

Big 12 Elimination Competition Week 4

We were so close to a mass exodus. With getting both tiebreakers and the nuetral half point by taking OU @Tailg8er is alone of the top of tiebreaker count with 5 1/2 points with @August right behind with 5 with several others with 4 and 3 points.

Rules-

2- If your team wins, you survive. Lose and you're eliminated.
3- After you pick a team, you may NOT pick them again.

5- If you submit a team you've already chosen, pick against a team in consecutive weeks, or don't submit a pick for the week....you're eliminated.
6- Last player standing wins. If the final group of players are eliminated the same week, we'll go to the tiebreakers.
