Home Equity vs HELOC

I read a lot on both. Each has their positive and negatives. I just don't know as much on HELOC compared to home equity loan. Sure a HEL has a little lower interest rate and the HELO is just a tad higher rate wise but it is a variable rate. Any input would be appreciated just to get some more knowledge on them. TIA!!

Four Day School Weeks

Several districts across the state have agreed to 4 day school weeks the last two years, and I’m curious to see what people’s thoughts are who have children or relatives in these districts.

Does this seem to be a trend towards the future for all schools or just an attempt for smaller schools to retain staff and/or save money? Would love to know what others think.

Jack Trice Stadium Print

Hey all,

Looking for some help here. I have a print up in the basement of Hilton during a KU game a few years back. I want to compliment it with one of Jack Trice - I don't care which game, but I want it to be one done AFTER the renovations on the North End Zone. I really want it to be a side view looking towards the press box, but I'm not having any luck at all finding one. Does anyone know of something that would meet my criteria?

Post Big 12’s/Pre NCAA’s Thoughts

Thought I’d go weight by weight and give me thoughts on the season in general and specifically the Big 12’s/heading into NCAA’s.

125 - tough to see Kysen go out the way he did (he is done, correct?). Looked like the old Kysen with low activity and appeared to he a step slow, but probably expected with his time off. Not expecting an NCAA at-large bid for him. Bummer that we didn’t get to see his improved discipline on and off of the mat come to fruition.

133 - Evan was solid all year, but really had a pretty bad weekend. His Moore match was unlike anything we’ve ever seen since he got in the lineup. Hoping 10 more days can get him feeling a bit better with whatever he had going on (hammy?). Main issue for him is going from a 3 or 4 seed, likely all the way down into the teens. Still expecting him to be right there for an AA spot.

141 - What a solid surprise JFrost has been this year. Tournament went right about as expected (thought he’d be closer to Happel but was beaten soundly). Should be right around a 10-12 seed and bloodround/low AA is very much on the table.

149 - Hair pulling matches to watch, but he got it done. Only has 1 loss at 149 (which he avenged). He still can flirt with either going 0-2 at NCAAs, or could AA. Hope he lays it all out there. I also think he will be seeded 8-12 range.

157 - Man, what to say here. Similar to Paniro, he will either go 1-2, or could finish as an AA. Consistency hasn’t been there and makes small mistakes that really cost him (Siebrecht match early full send and the late riding error against Downey). He’s probably going to be around a 15 seed.

165 - Good for Riggins continuing to get better and stealing an NCAA bid. He has looked better each time out since dropping to 165, wish he would have been there from the start. Depending on his record at 165(?), he likely has a pig-tail match to get to face Mesenbrink?

174 - Ran into a buzzsaw in the quarters (while hurting bad enough that he almost didn’t wrestle?) but gained some fans with his warrior-run on the backside. Wish he would have started the year at 174 and I am sure he won’t be 100% by NCAA’s, but he will be dangerous. Hope he can get back to the BR for a chance at AA, but I am sure he will be seeded in the 20-25 range.

184 - Bockman has been one of our most consistent guys this year. Isn’t likely to knock off one of the top 5 or 6 guys, but also isn’t that likely to lose to someone he’s ranked higher than. With that said, his injury didn’t look/doesn’t sound good. Hope it’s not serious but no clue what his NCAA outlook would be. Should be seeded around 14-18.

197 - Schon is another guy that very clearly improved throughout the year. Wouldn’t have guessed back in December that he would place at Big 12’s. Good effort out of him and I’ll be curious to see how he improves into the 25-26 season.

285 - Likely our most improved guy from November to now. SHOULD get an at-large seeded somewhere from 20-25. Tough loss to Mitchell (don’t think he would lose to him again). Excited to see him after a redshirt year as I think we will have a real hammer at heavy for the next 3-4 years.

LOVB

Totally missed that our very own Cande is playing for the League One Volleyball team in Omaha. They are off to a 1-0 start.

Herrera had five kills and a match-high six blocks.

"I was a little anxious," the Argentinian said. "This is a new league, a new team, but it felt so easy inside of the court."

Not to be confused with the PVF which Jess Schaben-Lansman played in with the other Omaha team (Supernovas) and won a title. I believe she has retired and returned to ‘normal’ life.

STANZ: Coaching Search Hot Board 1.0

Iowa State University athletic director Jamie Pollard speaks at a news conference on Sept. 24, 2019 in Ames to address reports of violence by fans directed at Iowa Hawkeye Band members after the season’s Iowa-Iowa State football game on Sept. 14.

Iowa State is officially in search of a new men’s basketball coach.

It was announced on Monday that Steve Prohm and the school have elected to part ways after six seasons. Pollard has now turned his attention toward finding a new man for the job and will meet with the media on Tuesday.

I’ve compiled this list of potential candidates by talking to people I know in the game of basketball, brainstorming with some of the smartest basketball people I know and talking with people inside the industry of covering coaching searches. I expect it to be a list that remains fluid throughout the search and will update it as needed so keep in mind this is simply version 1.0.

But, I want to note, I’m obviously not Jamie Pollard and...

Big 12's Tulsa, OK

We go every year, and looking forward to another one. Let me know if any new folks are going this year, and I will do my best to pay back all the great help I got this year traveling to these Iowa towns. I won't make it to NCAA's this year, so this is my last good run for wrestling this year. Tons of bars and good food around the BOK, we always have a good time.
