Addy's back. Best news we've had since it was announced AJ was to return. So, what impact has Addy had on this team and what happened without her? Here's a look.

I think the threat of Addy from deep is the thing that has been most missed. ISU has inserted in the starting lineup, and played more minutes with some players who are not nearly the threats from deep which has allowed teams to basically continuously double team Audi off of that not threat player. If ISU plays more with 4 players a threat from deep or at least damaging from mid range the double team will come at a much higher cost.

That’s for the read!

I am a bit shocked at how dramatic the numbers changed with her out.

Glad to get the opportunity to cheer for her on the court again this year.
To be honest, I'm not. Audi came into the season as ISU's most highly touted player, but I thought even last year that Addy was ISU's most valuable. She contributes in so many ways and is such a match up nightmare that losing her is so very costly.

I'm hoping that the games that ISU had to play without her end up being a blessing in disguise. With such a valuable player many times teams never get the chance to really learn how to be effective without them on the court. ISU has been forced to learn. Now hopefully foul trouble or the like doesn't automatically spell the death knell of ISU in a win or go home situation.

I think Beaty, Harris, and even Willy for example are more prepared to step in and take up some slack depending on what the situation demands.

I'd think if she were limited at all, she'd be in the injury report. I don't expect to see 38 minutes from her, but I'm guessing there's no real limit unless she feels any discomfort.
Unless I just missed it, which is possible, we didn't ever get any information on what was ailing Addy Brown other than the vague "lower body injury" comment. In anticipation of her return, I went back and watched the first half of the Baylor game. It wasn't vintage statistics, but I didn't think she appeared limited - AB played 30 minutes with six rebounds and eight assists, though she only shot 1-7. Even knowing she was injured, I couldn't really see it - she was going up against quality competition in Littlepage-Buggs and Fountleroy, which explained the shooting.

Anyway, it'll be good to have her back for the final four regular season games - let's go on a roll!!!

Somewhere I think there was a reference to her battling back issues in the Baylor game. That doesn't mean there wasn't a separate issue keeping her out of games after that, but back problems are the sort of thing that might not be obvious on the surface but could use a lot of rest to get better.

And could really affect your shot...

I know I mentioned during the game she was wearing what appeared to be a brace or support for her back in the Baylor game. Have a doctor that sits next to me and he pointed it out.

Thanks for this analysis! I had not truly recognized thevdramatic drop in scoring. Had seen Audi's drop as she was double and triple teamed most games. Maybe the biggest "benefit", (if you can call it a benefit) is that it forced Jada into more of a scoring point guard, which has changed the dynamics of the team.
